Law didn't know where the Slu Tribe's mixed spices came from. But judging by the smell alone, he knew they must have had their unique qualities.
However, given the circumstances, the spices Law had brought were clearly several levels superior. Infused into the spine meat and volatilized by the heat, they attracted everyone in the Slu Tribe.
The tribe had less than ten thousand people. Aside from the ten-member team guarding the entrance, almost everyone else had gathered around.
The dwelling, constructed with just a few walls, was already small. With mischievous children barging in, the room instantly became crowded.
"What a delicious smell."
Someone swallowed hard. Most of them couldn't see the grilled meat, but they could smell the enticing aroma continuously wafting from the dwelling.
The cramped dwelling carved out of rock had pitiful ventilation. The aroma rising from one spot could slowly seep into every corner.
"Gulp."
A group of mischievous children, utterly unafraid of the high temperature from the stone slab, crowded close, their eyes gleaming as they stared at the tempting slices of grilled meat.
In their small minds, they recalled the food they usually ate at home, and without exception, it was all slightly charred with a hint of bitterness. Not to mention the aroma, even in appearance, it was worlds apart.
They had never smelled such a fragrant scent, never seen grilled meat that looked so appealing, and never seen meat sliced so thinly.
Novelty, along with the human instinct for meat, made the children's mouths water uncontrollably. If they opened their mouths even slightly, saliva would flow out freely.
Tonpa looked at the Slu Tribesmen packed tightly around them and felt extremely uncomfortable. Then he glanced at Law, who seemed completely unaffected.
He had been with Law for quite some time and knew how skilled Law was at cooking. He also knew that Law was very focused when cooking and rarely distracted by external factors.
But in this situation, Law showed no reaction at all. He wondered how composed must he be?
The light from the luminous algae fluctuated in intensity, indicating that the flow of Aura around Tonpa was being affected.
He silently averted his gaze and glanced at Biscuit, who was sitting not far away. He saw Biscuit smiling softly as she watched Law, completely absorbed. Her gaze was like gently stroking a cat's soft fur, devoid of any romantic sentiment, but with a hint of... maternal radiance?
'Maternal radiance? Maternal radiance?!'
Tonpa shuddered, his expression growing even stranger. At that moment, Biscuit quietly glanced over, a smile on her lips, yet with an invisible killing intent.
"Uh."
Tonpa's body jolted, and he quickly retracted his neck, burying his head in his chest, not daring to look at Biscuit again.
He thought to himself, 'She's clearly in a loli form, yet she has to exude maternal radiance. It's so incongruous.'
Biscuit didn't continue to pressure Tonpa. She shifted her gaze and quietly watched Law.
'A man focused on something, completely absorbed and extremely serious, is very handsome, isn't he?'
A moment later, a glimmer of light flashed in Law's eyes. A white Aura burst out from below his palm, enveloping the many thinly sliced pieces of meat on the stone slab, evenly heated and slightly curled at the edges.
[Baton]
Under his control, the perfectly grilled thin meat floated into the air and spread out before the children.
When the meat slices hovered in the air, half the heat had already dissipated, making them ready to eat directly.
Even if Law hadn't carefully removed the heat, the Slu Tribe's members could have swallowed the freshly grilled meat straight into their stomachs, as their heat tolerance exceeded that of ordinary humans.
They didn't use Nen but possessed unique innate abilities… this was how the Slu Tribe managed to survive on the Dark Continent.
There were over fifty children. Seeing the meat slices floating motionless in the air, they all exclaimed in awe, their eyes shining. The surrounding crowd of Slu Tribe's members also gasped in surprise.
Law smiled, watching the children amazed by the novelty, and gestured for them to take the grilled meat slices.
The children looked at each other. After a moment, a little chubby boy stepped forward, reached out, grabbed a slice of meat from the air, and quickly stuffed it into his mouth, chewing vigorously.
"Mmm!"
The little chubby boy shuddered all over, slightly raised his head, and let out the loudest shout he could muster.
The sound startled the other children nearby, and the surrounding crowd also seemed alarmed.
The first thought that crossed their minds was that the grilled meat was poisoned and the little boy was screaming because the poison was affecting him.
Their automatic assumptions happened astonishingly fast. Some of the Slu Tribe's members closest immediately went into combat mode.
But before they could figure out what was happening, they saw the little boy stop screaming and start grabbing slice after slice of meat with both hands, stuffing them into his mouth.
The rapid change left everyone stunned into silence, except for the sound of the little boy chewing quickly and the satisfied, pig-like grunts he made.
For a full five seconds, the little chubby boy grabbed dozens of slices of meat. Only then did the other children finally react, scolding the little boy before joining the food snatching battle with agile movements.
These children didn't look very old, at most between three and seven years old. Their features and voices were very young, but their physical abilities were well-developed, evident from their nimble actions.
Noticing this, Law slightly raised his palm, pushing the hovering meat higher into the air, adding some fun to the children's food snatch.
However, the Slu Tribe's survival skills were cultivated from childhood. Even the smallest child could easily jump two meters to snatch the meat slices suspended in the air.
Watching them bounce around to grab the meat, Law chuckled. With his other hand, he targeted two empty stone bowls in the corner of the room, pulling it through the air.
He divided twelve slices of meat, placing ten slices in one bowl for Biscuit and two slices in the other for Tonpa.
Then, ignoring Tonpa's resentful look, Law curled his index finger, controlling a slice from the meat flying above his head and slowly brought it to Bruna's mouth.
Bruna swallowed the meat slice. Two round tentacles protruded from her smooth, soft head, swaying slightly with pleasure.
Never underestimate children's ability to snatch food, especially the children of the Slu tribe.
All the grilled meat slices were snatched in no time, and clearly, they weren't full yet.
They all looked at Law with hopeful eyes, and the surrounding Slu Tribe's adults also showed greedy glances.
They couldn't compete for food from the children, only hoping that after the children were full, Law would grill more to share with them.
Law looked at the expectant expressions of the Slu tribespeople around him, thinking that the spices he had brought wouldn't be enough to meet the demand.
Considering this, he turned his attention to the stone bowl containing various spices… the Slu Tribe's own spices.
He would have to separate these unfamiliar spices, find a reasonable combination to replace his own.
"Then let's get started."
Law smiled, waving his hand as his Domain spread out, preparing to host a meat feast for the Slu Tribe.
In a corner of the dwelling, there was a relatively decent-looking house, at least with a basic structure.
Inside the room, there was actually a stone bed where an elderly man with pale, dense hair like grass lay sleeping soundly.
Suddenly, the old man's nose, hidden beneath his brows, twitched slightly as if catching a whiff of some enticing aroma.
