Chapter 503 - Chapter 503 Boarding Qualifications

Before reaching the 190th floor, Tonpa had already competed in over ten matches, and so had Doon.

Both contestants had arrived at the 190th floor with flawless winning records and were now placed on the same stage.

Doon's footwork was fast and agile, complemented by his Wave-Speed Jab enhanced with Nen. In his previous matches, he had instantly defeated his opponents.

His overwhelming strength quickly garnered a large fanbase. Spectators flocked to watch his matches every time, blindly betting on his victory.

In fact, many viewers saw Doon, the dark horse, as the next Law.

As for Tonpa, although he also arrived at the 190th floor with an undefeated record, his way of winning was far less impressive compared to Doon's.

Both had flawless records, but Doon achieved his with instant knockouts, while Tonpa wore down his opponents.

That's right… Tonpa's winning strategy was to avoid combat, constantly dodging attacks until his opponents were completely exhausted.

As the match reached the ten-minute mark, the cheers that had once roared for Doon inside the arena completely died down.

In the commentator's booth, the female commentator monotonously repeated, "Tonpa dodged again! Doon's fierce attacks still haven't landed! Tonpa dodged again...!"

On the stage, Doon's assaults were swift and fierce, yet Tonpa slipped through like an eel, evading the storm of punches with ease.

Doon grew increasingly furious and anxious. Although the speed of this coward in front of him was clearly several levels below his own, not a single one of his rapid jabs had managed to connect.

Half an hour passed, then an hour.

The arena fell silent except for the buzzing sound of Doon's punches.

There weren't many undefeated contestants, and Tonpa was one of them, so he was naturally on his watchlist.

He had personally attended several of Tonpa's matches. Honestly, he believed Tonpa's success was due to luck… facing weaker opponents and relying on his cowardly tactics to secure such a flawless record.

He had repeatedly imagined himself as Tonpa's opponent, and without exception, the hypothetical outcome was always an instant knockout of Tonpa.

After all, Tonpa's speed was nothing in his eyes.

However, when he actually faced Tonpa, he never expected to find himself in such a hopeless situation.

'Why can't I hit him? Why can't I hit him?'

Doon kept questioning himself inwardly, his frustration boiling over.

'Just one punch… if I could land just one punch, I could take down this shameless coward.'

The referee kept a close watch on Tonpa and Doon as they moved across the stage, his focus beginning to waver.

As a referee, he needed to maintain constant attention on the competitors' actions, but in all his years of officiating, this was the first time he had encountered such a match.

Never before had he longed so desperately for a match to end.

The referee sighed inwardly, while the spectators who had bet on Doon wore bitter expressions.

They were well aware of how Tonpa had won his previous matches. If Tonpa was a shield, then Doon was undoubtedly the spear that could pierce through it… at least, that was what the audience had believed.

Unfortunately, their initial disappointment had now turned into despair.

Doon eventually collapsed.

He wasn't defeated by Tonpa, he collapsed from exhaustion.

At that moment, the audience erupted into unprecedented boos.

But Tonpa didn't care at all. He raised his hands, closed his eyes, and basked in the most glorious moment of his life, as if he had just won the world championship in boxing.

'Bliss!' He thought gleefully.

In the spectator stands, Law and Killua stood up and left amidst the waves of boos.

Once outside the venue, they walked into the corridor.

"Now that I have 800 million, where do you want to go for dinner tonight? You can pick any one, the more expensive, the better." Law said.

Killua shook his head firmly, "Nowhere. I want to eat the food you cook."

"Then you're missing out on a chance to splurge/" Law laughed, ruffling Killua's hair.

Killua looked up with a serious expression, "As long as I get to eat your cooking, it's not a loss at all."

Law suddenly burst out laughing.

That night, in Law's Floor Master room.

A table full of delicacies was set, with five people seated around it.

Law, Biscuit, Killua, Tonpa, and a bespectacled, scholarly-looking black-haired man. He's none other than Wing, who in the original work taught Gon and Killua Nen at Heavens Arena. He also had another identity: Biscuit's disciple.

In terms of seniority, Law was his senior brother.

In truth, Law hadn't known that Biscuit had taken Wing as her disciple, as she had never mentioned it to him. It was only when they coincidentally ran into Wing at Heavens Arena that Law learned of their relationship.

"Tonpa, you've met the standard."

At the dinner table, Law looked at Tonpa.

"What?"

Tonpa was completely confused.

"In a while, I'll be setting sail to a wonderful place. Congratulations… you've qualified to board the ship." Law said with a smile.

Beside him, Biscuit suddenly understood, 'So, all the effort Law had put into teaching Tonpa recently was to bring him along to the Dark Continent.'

Given Tonpa's relatively poor talent, Biscuit had been puzzled and had no interest in him, so she wasn't very familiar with the type of Nen Ability Tonpa had developed.

But since Law was willing to invest so much effort into Tonpa and had decided to bring him to the Dark Continent, it was likely that Tonpa would be of some help on this journey.

As Biscuit had guessed, with Law's assistance, Tonpa had fully tapped into and amplified his innate ability to sense danger, developing a Nen Ability highly useful for avoiding threats.

It was a support-type ability, but its uses extended beyond just evading danger… it had broader applications. It might even prove unexpectedly effective during their exploration of the Dark Continent.

"Where are we going?" Tonpa asked cautiously, feeling inexplicably uneasy.

"You'll know when we get there." Law replied.

Wing and Killua were both curious, their eyes shifting between Law and Tonpa.

Tonpa swallowed nervously and forced a dry laugh, "Can I not go?"

"What do you think?" Law smiled.

Tonpa's face fell. He truly had no right to refuse, as his fate was firmly in Law's hands.

"Law, where are you going?" Killua asked curiously.

Law looked at him and smiled, "I'll tell you another time."

"Alright." Killua pouted.

Wing glanced at Biscuit, who was secretly devouring the dishes, and asked, "Master, are you going with Senior Brother too?"

Biscuit looked up at him and nodded before continuing to eat.

Hearing this, Wing felt it sounded like a worthwhile experience to participate in. After hesitating for a moment, he mustered the courage to ask, "Can I come along?"

"No."

Almost simultaneously, Biscuit and Law rejected his request.

Wing was disappointed and asked, "Is it because there aren't enough spots on the ship?"

The ship that Ellie had prepared could easily accommodate hundreds of passengers, but only three people would ultimately board it, so there would definitely be plenty of available spots.

"No, if you come along, you'll die without a doubt." Biscuit replied bluntly.

Hearing this, Wing's expression changed instantly.

"Pfft-"

Tonpa spat out the soup he had just sipped.

'This was the wonderful place we were going to?'

Poor Tonpa still didn't know that their destination was the Dark Continent… a place that could almost be called a forbidden zone for humanity. For someone as weak as him, it would be nothing short of a disaster.

Even though his Nen Ability could help him avoid danger, Nen Abilities had their limits, even with extremely stringent conditions imposed.
