The tremors came suddenly and were very short, giving people the feeling of a giant walking. Every few seconds, every step would cause a brief vibration on the ground.
'If this wasn't an earthquake, then what was causing it?'
Law's mind immediately went to the huge meatball monster, 'Was it bouncing around nearby?'
In reality, while the rhythmic tremors weren't caused by the huge meatball monster itself, it was indirectly related to. The reason was that the warships surrounding the Demon Island's port had launched a full-scale assault on the huge meatball monster.
The vibrations in the underground space were caused by the wide-area firepower of the warships.
Of course, Law and Ging had no way of knowing that. Seeing that the frequency of the vibration showed no sign of stopping for a while, to be on the safe side, they decided to leave the underground space first to prevent any accidents.
They retraced their steps through the winding passageway, eventually returning to the hole they'd jumped down from earlier.
While getting down was easy, it's not so easy to go up, as the hole was over a hundred meters high, and there was no leverage or place to rest at the entrance of the cave.
Law could easily go up using [Sky Walk], but he didn't move immediately. Instead, he looked at Ging, wanting to see how the other party handle it.
They didn't bring any ropes when they came, though they could have Kuro take out the ship and retrieve some from the mast. The real question was whether Ging would take the troublesome route or the simple one.
Ging pointed upward and asked, "Can you get up there by yourself?"
"Yes." Law replied with a smile, and then asked, "What about you?"
"It's just a small matter."
Ging stretched out his hand, and his Aura surged and expanded, turning into something like a skateboard.
"Most Emitters focus on projecting their Aura outward for offense, but it can also be used on oneself to produce a rocket-like effect, pushing the body to perform extremely explosive movements."
Ging's control is terrifyingly precise. He can use his Aura to easily create the shape of a skateboard, and it is extremely stable, as if it were a real object.
"Depending on how you use it, distance, efficiency, quality… you can sustain long-term flight or achieve instant teleportation."
At this point, Ging looked up at the hole and continued, "At this height, three or four seconds is enough. Can you keep up? If it's too far away from you, your Aura Membrane will break, right?"
Ging's series of explanations sparked an idea in Law. His Sky Walk had a major weakness, which is a poor maneuverability.
But if he could master the techniques like Ging described, maybe he could achieve true aerial agility.
He was so lost in thought that he didn't even register Ging's question.
Ging's eyes were on the hole above his head, and he didn't see that Law was in deep thought. When several seconds passed without a response, he finally turned to Law and saw that he was in deep contemplation.
'You're still in the mood to think in this situation?'
Ging showed a pair of dead fish eyes. He instantly dismissed the skateboard, and instead conjured an Aura Balloon, then put it next to Law's ear mischievously.
Pop!
The Aura Balloon exploded. Although it had no power, it made a loud noise.
Law jolted violently. When he came to his senses, he saw Ging laughing beside him. He was speechless at this childish behavior.
Seeing Law come out of his thinking state, Ging instantly switched back to business mode and repeated his earlier question.
"Three or four seconds? No problem." Law looked up at the hole and said.
"Good."
Ging once again conjured the skateboard and began to prepare for takeoff.
The two stood about one meter apart. After the count down ended, they moved simultaneously, leaping from their spots and reaching a height of thirty to forty meters in an instant.
Law used Sky Walk and stepped on the air to go upwards. At the same time, he turned his head to look at Ging, only to see the other party performed a stylish mid-air flip, landing in a half-crouch on his skateboard, with one hand gripping the front and the other holding the tail, soaring toward the hole like a rocket.
Seeing this, Law immediately sped up and followed closely behind Ging to prevent the Aura Membrane from breaking due to distance. After all, the area was filled with faint poisonous mist, and even slight exposure could be dangerous.
Three seconds later, both of them shot out of the hole and landed steadily on the ground outside.
During the ascent, though Ging was riding his skateboard, the Aura covering his entire body was fully active.
In Law's eyes, it resembled the effect of the movement-type spell cards in Greed Island, as his entire form was enveloped in rapidly flowing Nen.
Law had a deep understanding of Nen Abilities, and he also knew that Greed Island contained many peculiar cards with bizarre powers.
Some cards allowed instantaneous long-distance movement, some could reverse aging when consumed, and others could heal severe injuries in an instant.
It is precisely because of his personal experience with the power of Nen that Law can better understand the incredible abilities of those cards.
For instance, the long-distance movement cards alone required a highly skilled Emitter to replicate.
However, not only were there numerous such cards, but even an average Nen User could easily activate them without paying any cost.
Law believed that Greed Island must have been built on extremely demanding limitations to achieve such effects, but the Emission method that Ging had just used was essentially the prototype of those movement spell cards.
In other words, it might be possible to achieve similar feats even without Greed Island's limitations. If he could master Emission-Type Abilities well enough, he might even be able to perform instantaneous teleportation.
As Luo was thinking about the ability Ging had just used, Ging was also analyzing Law's Sky Walk.
Different from him, who only uses Emission System, Law's Sky Walk wasn't limited to just Emission, but also incorporated applications from other Nen Categories, and its execution differed significantly from Ging's method.
Ging thought of this and the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.
Except for special cases, each Nen Ability belonged to a specific category, and only that with category could someone unleash its full potential. As a result, most Nen Users specialized in just one Category of Nen.
Ging never liked to limit himself to a framework, so he would specialize in training in all Nen Categories, and then integrate the characteristics of multiple categories to accomplish whatever he wanted.
In his opinion, Law seemed to be the same type.
After a while, Kuro floated up from below.
Upon reaching the surface, he suddenly glanced toward the edge of the clearing, where a pile of withered trees lay, and a look of doubt appeared in his silver eyes.
'Was it just my imagination?'
The doubt in Kuro's eyes faded for a moment, and then he looked at Law and Ging.
Seeing that they didn't react, he subconsciously looked in that direction again, and his expression suddenly changed.
There was nothing just now, but now, three Voids suddenly emerged and slowly walked out of the dead forest.
"Hey, you two! Didn't you sense them at all?" Kuro roared, as he didn't want to provoke the Void again.
Hearing Kuro's voice, Law and Ging immediately noticed the Void not far away. Since they emitted no Nen Fluctuations, neither had detected them earlier.
"Run!"
Law decisively raised his hand and fired three Nen Bullets in succession. They shot through the air, striking the Void and shattering the bandages wrapping their bodies into fluttering fragments.
"I want to take a closer look." Ging seemed calm.
"Stop messing around. We don't know where the other four are. It's best not to provoke them before we figure out their abilities and weaknesses." Law looked around but did not see any trace of the other four Void.
At this moment, the fluttering bandage fragments suddenly returned to their original state, and dense green smoke erupted from the Void's bodies. Then, they ignored Law entirely and lunged straight toward Kuro.
