Joy's answer did not surprise Nellie.
However, Nellie's body was still cold when she heard that. She was disappointed, but her throat was dry and hoarse. Her lips trembled slightly. "Have you... been lying to me?"
She thought, 'Joy could lie to anyone, but how could she lie to me?'
"No, I'm not lying to you." Joy smiled and sat down in the rocking chair opposite Nellie. She rested her hands on the armrests, looking more like a queen than Nellie did. "It's you who's lying to yourself, isn't it?" Nellie was speechless.
After waiting for a moment, Joy said calmly, "We survived when we were weak. There's no reason for us to be afraid when we've already come this far."
Nellie took a few deep breaths and regained her composure. "We can't let everything go to waste. The Carter family's matter must be completely resolved."
Joy asked, "What can be considered a complete solution?"
Nellie gritted her teeth. "Make them disappear completely. No one will be able to find them!"
