If this had happened two years ago, he would have hung up without hesitation and let her do whatever she wanted.
But now was different.
Nearly everyone in the Carter family was a public figure powerful businesspeople, celebrities in music, film, and sports and all still rising stars. With countless eyes watching, he couldn't afford a scandal.
He especially couldn't let Linda ruin things for Luna or the Carter family.
And truthfully, her low and manipulative stunt had already angered him.
"Then come quickly!" Linda cried. "If I don't see you, I'll really die!"
"You must wait for me," Jaden replied, his voice firm.
He stormed out of the room, his footsteps heavy, the door slamming shut behind him.
"I'll wait for you," Linda whispered to herself. "I'll wait until I die."
