Despite Tanera's assurance about her safety, Andrew had ten warships ready to do a micro jump the moment there was any trouble or if the beings tried to attack her.
Even if it was capable of dealing with a few droids back then, the newer versions were much more powerful, and this time, hundreds of them would be dropped from the ship.
He didn't care how powerful the being was; it would not survive such an encounter.
As soon as Tanera left her ship, the alien arrived and bowed to her slightly.
After that, there was a brief conversation before the merchant went back to her ship, only to emerge with a backpack that looked like a droid power pack.
She handed the device to the being before contacting Andrew again.
-Can you send an engineering vessel with a power generator?
She asked.
-I can, but I want to know the situation first.
Andrew answered.
He was not about to endanger his crew without a good reason.
-This Ilanian attacked you previously, perceiving you as a threat.
Additionally, she specifically targeted the droids to send a warning and to get their energy packs.
Her crew is in cryo sleep, and their ship's power supply is almost gone, so she needed the power to buy herself some more time.
Tanera explained.
-Additionally, she promised not to attack your people if you send the ship and help her with her power problem.
We could wait for the merchant guild's ships, but she is not sure how long the remaining power will last.
Paul thought about it for a moment before answering.
-Alright, I'll send the ship, but if she attacks any of my crew, she won't need to worry about the power or anything else anymore.
He answered and sent the orders to the engineering ship.
This was a new kind of vessel, and it was finished only two days ago.
Aelita figured out that they might need to repair some of their ships in deep space, and they had nothing to do it with, so she designed this ship especially for that purpose, and Vulcan managed to put it together within three days.
As soon as the captain received the orders, the ship powered up before making a micro jump.
-Lady Tanera, the emperor said you needed a power generator.
Where should we place it?
The captain contacted her for instructions.
-As close to the crashed ship as possible.
She responded, and less than five minutes later, the drones landed the generator less than twenty meters from the ship.
Right after that, a shuttle brought some engineering droids and two crew members to connect the device.
-We need to know where to plug in the cables.
An engineer said, approaching Tanera and ignoring the Alien.
-I'll show you where to connect them to.
The alien spoke, evidently not happy about being ignored.
It turned out that the ship had a hidden socket on its hull, designed for the standard plugs.
Seeing this, the engineer ordered the droids to spread the cables, and less than half an hour after the generator landed, it was connected to the ship and activated.
-It's done, the power levels are rising within the ship, and if our readings are correct, the main systems should be back online within a few hours.
The engineer informed Tanera before turning around to get back to the shuttle.
-Is it normal in this so-called empire for the servants to ignore their betters?
The Ilanian asked Tanera after being ignored again.
But before the merchant could respond, the engineer turned around.
-I am no servant, and you definitely are not my better.
He answered with anger in his voice.
-So shut up and be grateful that the emperor decided to help you instead of blasting this whole rock to bits.
The engineer said before continuing on his way to the shuttle.
Deciding that it was not worth it to argue with some idiotic alien.
He had done his job, and that was all he was interested in.
The Ilianian was shocked at first that this being dared to speak to her like that and wanted to grab him and teach him a lesson, but was stopped by Tanera.
-Don't do it.
If you attack him, there won't be any need for the merchant ships to arrive anymore.
The merchant warned her.
-He disrespected, insulted, and threatened me.
Do you want me to let it go like nothing happened?
The alien asked, anger sipping from her voice.
-He did no such thing.
Tanera shook her head.
-He simply told you the truth.
The only reason he was even sent here to deliver the generator and connect it to the ship was because I asked the emperor for help.
He had his orders and he carried them out, simple as that.
As for you being his superior, you are not.
So get over it and don't cause trouble for yourself and me as well.
Tanera said, not wanting the situation to escalate, which could have negative effects on her further stay in this system, which was the last thing she wanted.
Why would it make trouble for you?
The alien asked, surprised.
-Because I'm a resident merchant in this empire, and I insisted on coming here, even asking for help to power your ship back up.
If you cause an incident, you can be sure you won't survive the outcome.
As for me, it would strain the trust the emperor places in me, possibly to the point where I would need to be reassigned.
Additionally, it would affect the reputation of the guild in the eyes of the empire, which is not that great as it is, thanks to some incidents from the past.
Tanera explained.
The Ilanian calmed down, hearing this, since she didn't want to bring trouble to the merchants' guild, especially since they were on their way to save her and her crewmates.
Two hours later, the merchant's guild rescue team arrived with six cruisers and ten destroyers escorting four recovery ships.
They got to work as soon as they arrived, landing more generators and plugging them into the ship, while their drones started removing the parts of the asteroid preventing them from recovering the ship.
The commander of the rescue team thanked Andrew for his help and assured him that he would be rewarded for his efforts.
Tanera also received thanks and compensation for her part in the rescue effort.
Less than a day after they arrived, the ship was recovered along with all its crew, and they left to escort the Ilanians back to their territory in the battle-verse.
