Chapter 48 - Chapter 44:Lotus, City of Forgotten Dreams

"That is indeed a bad thing. If he continues to grow stronger, he will absolutely be able to challange us. This one is on par with the other fruit that avoids us. If not worse, because while one brings freedom, this one brings chaos." the elder wit a flat hat said sollemnly.

"So let's have CP0 capture him, or kill him! He cannot possibly stand against them if they...." the blonde elder could not finish his sentence as a voice spoke. Calm yet hiding a storm.

"Silence. You are either foolish or ignorant if you believe a wielder of that fruit is so easily captured. He may be young, but already he wields powers beyond what most can imagine. And he will keep growing. However, he may yet be of use to us. In the past, wielder of this fruit were very fickle, but possible to be bought. Since the fruit chooses it's master, there is no evidence he will be different." the calm voice spoke into the dark room with wisdom beyond their understanding.

"Understood. We shall simply increase his bounty again ane keep observing him." the elder spoke getting an agreeing nod from others.

"You do that."

Unaware of the dangers lurking at the top of the world, the crew of the Vanguard has slowly but steadily docked at Lotus Island. Or more accurately a city spanning the entire island.

"*sniiiiif-Haaaaahhh. Can you smell that?" Aden asked as he took a deep breath through his nose.

"Booze?" Buggy asked curiously.

"Herbs?" Robin tilted her head after giving the air a small, and admittedly cute sniff.

"Molten metal?" Ring's voice sounded from the side.

"No idea." Nojiko shrugged.

"No, no, my friends. Breath in deep. The smell is overwhelming. The air reeks of hypocrisy." Aden spoke with a self satisfied smirk.

"Seriously? You had us going with that?" Buggy bugged out his eyes incredulously.

"Haha. No but seriously look around. Marines and pirates together? And no fighting. Look. That squad recognized us, but they simply ignore us." Aden expanded on his statement.

"I don't like this, captain." Buggy said with a whisper. "I've never seen marines ignore pirates like this. Something seems fishy."

"Agreed." the others intoned.

"Okay. Stick together, just in case. I don't sense any hostile intentions o we should be okay, but that itself makes me nervous." Aden said as he expanded his haki for a moment.

The crew set off to explore the island-city, trying local foods and visiting some shops.

"Captain, we spotted Stormcaller Aden and his crew in the city! What are your orders?" a marine burst through the door in a marine base captains office.

"*Sigh.* How many times do i have to say this?? We are to maintain the status quo. That means not engaging. This island is a neutral zone, as ordained by a world noble." the caltain sighes an explanation, and added under his breath as the marine was leaving "I swear to god, these young recruits just do not listen during orientation."

"Ladies and gentlemen! Come one, come all! We have a truly special stock for sale today! Devil Fruits, legendary weapons, slaves of exotic origin and more!" an anouncer shouted at passerby's from a small wooden podium in front of a luxurious looking building.

"Slaves?" Ring asked under his breath.

"Not surprising." Robin answered. "Places like this tend to have slave trade at large."

"Still disgusting." Ring said with finality.

"No argument there." Aden added.

They all simply try to walk past, when suddenly the guy makes a disgusting remark towards Robin.

"Damn, she would fetch a nice price. I know some people looking for a pet. Looking to sell young ma...." before he can finish, a swishing sound is hears and the man's head falls to the fround with a wet thud.

Without looking back, aftee hearing what the man said, Aden used his power to send a sharp wind blade at the man's throat.

Someone screams in terror, and pandemonium starts. Aden and crew simply walk away.

Later that night, they found a place to stay. A hotel specifically for pirates. The moment they walked in, the place went quiet. Some eyes widened and hushes whispers started. Everyone stayed out of their way.

"Three rooms. One night." Aden spoke to the barkeepery dropped some money on the counter and after getting the room keys, they disappeared upstairs.

Aden would have a room with Robin, Buggy with Nojiko and Ring will have his own room.

As they slowly settled into bed, Robin snuggled deep into Aden's chest.

"Thank you, dear. That was...beautiful." she said, refering to Aden's killing of the man.

"Bloodthirsty much?" Aden askes, hugging her closer.

"Always..." she said and soon began to breath slower, as she fell asleep.

"...What am i gonna do with you?" Aden whispered, and kissed the top of her head. She seemed rather comfortable snuggling to his round belly. He smiled to himself, checked on others with his Haki, a mistake on his part as he saw something he should not have, and fell asleep.

"Are they here?" asked a cloaked woman in a side street.

"Yea... Went into Ratface's Motel. You got a beef wit'em?" asked a ragged street thug.

"What my deal with them is, is no business of yours. Here, the money i promised." the cloaked woman said as she three him a was of Belli.

"Happy ta help..." the thug said as he walked away with the money.

"*Sigh...* I just hope he remembers me. When i heard he was here, i had to take the chance to see him again. Pure chance i was also here now." the cloaked woman thought to herself as she headed to the motel. She would wait until morning.

The next day, after the crew woke up, they went to find something to eat.

"So many options...It all actually smells good." Nojiko sniffed the air, slightly surprised. She seems to be in good mood. So does Buggy.

"Yeah. I feel like something sweet." Buggy said, his face set in a dumb grin.

Aden and Robin exchanged a knowing look and giggled, but said nothing.

After finding a spot that made something like waffles with different toppings, they sat down to eat.

But when they began to enjoy their food, they fot interrupted.

A cloaked woman approached with a confident stride

"Stormcaller Aden!" she spoke aloud.

The moment the name was heard, everyone went quiet. For two heaetbeats, nothing happened, but then the panic began. Everybody scrambled to get out of there, leaving the crew and the stranger alone, in a manner of seconds.

"Do i know you?" Aden asked curiously, but more than ready for a fight. The others also appeard ready to jump in. Ring's hand began to glow purple, Nojiko prepared an illusion of a swarm of bees, Buggy held a Buggy Bomb in between his fingers and Robin drew a scalpel from who knows where.

"You better! I would have to smack you if you don't remember me." the cloaked woman raises her head, revealing a young, pretty face and two colored hair split right in the middle.

Aden's eyes widened in realization after a few moments.

"...Song-bird???!"

(And here we are. It took a while and i am sorry. I just couldnt find the brain juice to keep writing. Ill work on another one, but i have no idea when it will be done.

But to address some possible confusion.

-Aden, while a transmigrator, has forgotten his past life.

-This current life is not his first run of the One Piece world, as implied by the projection.

-At the start, when he shared his memories of his past life, that was a last remnant of his old life seeping through, and the time powers of the one who sent him back erased them. Even from memories of others, so thats why nobody talks about Aden being a transmigrator.

-As far as he knows, this is Adens first life, because his old memories are gone.

Hope that makes sense)
