"You can pay," I placed all the things I had picked on the countertop at the teller and smiled at Edward.
"Daddy to the rescue," he snickered as he took out his wallet. The store assistant's face became bright red as soon as he said that. I just thanked the universe for the disguise. He whistled as he paid, then when he was done he turned to me and said with people around us, "give daddy a kiss and say thank you."
"Are you mad?" I gaped and happily took the store bag when she was done packing, "you must have hit your head hard at practice."
He laughed as she handed him the slip and we went out. "One day we'll be able to give each other kisses in public. Imagine," he stretched out his arms and spun around as we left the store. "I could hold your hand and we wouldn't have to act like two mates."
"Fat chance," I snickered. "I think we're the reserved couple, you know. Not the overly dramatic public display of affection sort of thing."
