Ethan swore under his nose, but he managed to stop himself from instinctively reaching out to pick up the lighter. Before the flame had been extinguished, he had been able to see where it fell, and he knew all too well how an attempt to pick it up would have ended - he would have both of his hands stuck in the web, and then he wouldn't be able to free himself, not until someone finally came to help him!
And Ethan didn't know that. Jasper was blocked, Adrian unconscious, and Lane… Ethan knew better than to rely on Lane. Not because he thought that Lane wouldn't be able to help him, but because he doubted that he would be willing to.
