Lila sat against the far wall of the cell when they found her, knees drawn up loose rather than defensive, watching the four of them file in through the barrier's pale blue hum like she'd been expecting exactly this many people and no fewer.
Sophie stopped just short of the light.
"We need to talk."
"So talk." Lila didn't move from the wall. Didn't stand, didn't posture, just sat there with the particular stillness of someone who'd already decided how tired she was going to let herself look. "Or is this the part where you all stand there staring at me like I'm already something dead. Like a body you're deciding how to bury."
"Nobody thinks that."
"Diana does."
