"It's been almost an hour," Boran said, ducking under a low branch, his voice carrying the particular strain of someone who'd been walking too long without saying what was actually bothering him. "How far did he even chase whatever it was."
"That's the thing," Kelvin said, matching pace beside Diana, his voice tight in a way that had nothing to do with the terrain. "Noah's fast. Genuinely fast, void blink puts him past almost anything I've ever clocked. Lucas might edge him in a straight sprint, and Storm obviously, but on foot, chasing something visually, there shouldn't be anything out here that outpaces him long enough to drag this into an hour."
"Unless it wasn't outrunning him," Diana said. "Unless it was leading him."
Kelvin didn't answer that right away, which was its own kind of answer.
