3rd Person POV

It was a quiet morning at the Cooper household when Veronica slowly stirred from her sleep. Her eyes blinked open, still heavy with exhaustion—not from physical fatigue, but from emotional strain.

She stared at the ceiling of Georgie's cozy and homely room, unsure of what to do next or how to act around the Cooper family later that day.

The intense conversation she had with Mary the night before had drained her. Not her body—her soul.

Honestly, she didn't want to face the Coopers just yet. She was too embarrassed, especially about seeing Mary again.

Mary knew everything now. Veronica had opened up to her about everything.

That alone brought her a sense of relief—but it also left a lingering embarrassment. She felt guilty for hiding the truth for so long, even though Mary had forgiven her after that heart-to-heart talk.

Veronica had even said she would leave that very night if the Cooper family no longer wanted her around.

But she had also pleaded with Mary, telling her how deeply she loved Georgie and begging not to be separated from him.

Mary had no intention of doing that. She wasn't asking for a breakup—just... a pause. A reset.

Veronica had listened, her tears falling freely after that.

She had been ready to walk away from the Cooper house, but Mary's words were unexpectedly comforting. Still, it was exhausting to have such a conversation with your boyfriend's mother.

Mary reminded her that she and Georgie were still young. She wanted them both to go to college and finish their studies.

She had already talked to Georgie about it—and she wanted Veronica to consider the same path.

Well, long story short... the conversation had ended with a very clear message: less sex, and be careful.

"Veronica! Are you up?" Missy's voice rang from outside Georgie's room. And without waiting for an answer, she walked right in.

"Let's go eat breakfast—Mom made eggs and bacon!" Missy beamed at her.

Veronica gave her a tired smile and rubbed her eyes. "Why are you so cheerful this morning?" she asked, slowly getting to her feet.

"Because they're coming back today! I don't know why, but I feel like my brother has something fun to tell us!" Missy said excitedly as they both stepped out of Georgie's room.

Walking toward the kitchen, Veronica saw Mary preparing breakfast.

Mary heard their footsteps and turned around with a warm smile on her face—as if nothing had happened the night before, and she carried no weight on her shoulders, "Good morning, sweetheart!" she greeted.

Veronica met her eyes briefly, forcing an awkward smile, "Good morning…" she mumbled, then quickly looked away.

Missy picked up on the vibe. She glanced between Mary and Veronica. "What's going on?" she asked.

Mary simply waved her hand dismissively. "Nothing. Now eat your breakfast. We're going to church together, alright?"

Missy looked at Veronica, who gave her another awkward smile, then Missy just shrugged and lost interest.

They both sat down at the small kitchen table, waiting for Mary to plate their breakfast.

"Would you like to wear something of mine to church?" Mary asked gently, looking at Veronica.

Missy turned to her mom with confusion. "How could she wear your clothes?"

Mary flinched a little at that, "I'm just saying—I thought we might be similar in size," she replied, giving Missy a sharp look.

Missy shrugged again. "I'm just saying," she repeated.

"Then stop saying!" Mary snapped, pointing her spatula at Missy.

Missy pouted, but the tension broke as Veronica chuckled softly. "It's okay, Mary. I brought a few clothes with me," she said with a gentle smile, finally looking directly at Mary.

Mary smiled wide. "Alright then." She placed the plates in front of them, then added, "And please—call me Mom, if you'd like."

Veronica blushed at the offer, glancing over at Missy—who was now grinning from ear to ear.

"So you're gonna be my sister now?" Missy teased, her grin growing wider.

Veronica sighed, trying to mask her embarrassment, "Huff… I guess I am."

Missy kept grinning. "Don't pretend you don't love it! I know you do."

"Of course I do!" Veronica laughed, and though it sounded like a joke, she meant it.

Mary watched them fondly, her heart warmed by the moment.

"Hello! I need some coffee—now!" Connie's voice echoed through the house. She entered the kitchen, glancing around at the cheerful, almost dreamy atmosphere. "What's going on in here? It's way too sweet for this early in the morning!"

Missy, ever eager, launched into a full explanation of what had happened, speaking with overflowing enthusiasm.

Connie chuckled, giving Mary a pointed look. "Well, what can I say? The Big Man finally cracked open her heart for Veronica." she said, as sarcastic as ever.

"Oh, stop it! Go drink your coffee," Mary replied, clearly annoyed. "And it's not like I didn't accept her before!"

Connie scoffed and poured herself a mug. "So, what are y'all doing today?" she asked, looking at Missy and Veronica.

Before either of them could respond, Mary joined them with her own coffee and took a seat. "We're going to church first."

"Yeah, figured," Connie said, knowing their usual Sunday routine. "And after that?"

Mary turned to Missy and Veronica. "So… what do you girls want to do today?"

Missy perked up. "Can we go to the gun range?" she asked hopefully.

Connie and Veronica both looked to Mary, fully expecting her to say no.

But Mary surprised them. "Sure, let's go," she said casually, sipping her coffee.

"Really? Yes!" Missy cheered, quickly devouring her breakfast.

Connie leaned closer to Veronica and whispered, "Did you put something in her coffee?"

Veronica's lips curled into a tiny smirk, eyes twinkling as she looked back at Connie.

"See? I am the fun mom!" Mary said proudly, snorting at Connie.

With her mouth still full, Missy gave her mom a thumbs-up. "Ywou arwe twhe bwest mom!"

Third Person POV

"Georgie, have you studied for the math test?" Sheldon's voice echoed from behind George, who was clearly exhausted after driving for more than eight hours straight.

The three Cooper boys had just returned home from a long and tiring trip. George had been sighing the entire ride, while Sheldon kept complaining about touching something unpleasant, and Georgie simply laughed, ignoring every word he said.

The journey back to Medford had taken quite a while, and by the time they arrived, it was already afternoon.

"Of course I have! I'm even confident enough to say I'll match your score this time!" Georgie replied playfully, lifting Sheldon's heavy suitcase with ease.

George was far too tired to bother with heavy luggage, especially not knowing which of Sheldon's belongings were important or just nonsense.

Sheldon paused at Georgie's bold claim. Georgie smirked at his reaction.

"No, of course not. That's impossible." Sheldon muttered as he hurried after Georgie.

George ignored their banter and headed toward the house. "We're home!" he shouted as he stepped inside, not bothering to wait for anyone to greet them.

The women inside heard his voice. They walked toward the entrance—except for Missy, who immediately ran straight to Georgie.

"Georgie!" Missy cried, brushing past her dad, who could only smile awkwardly. Mary chuckled as she walked over to her husband. "Hey," she whispered and kissed him gently on the lips.

George looked at her with a tired smile. "Hey," he replied softly.

Mary giggled. "You look absolutely exhausted." She took his suitcase to help him. "Go rest and grab a beer," she said, kissing him again.

"Oh, I will!" George said and walked straight to the fridge without needing to be told twice.

"Hello, princess!" Georgie scooped Missy into a hug as she ran into his arms. "Did you miss me? I bet you missed me!"

Missy grinned up at him. "Not really! Veronica's been staying over the past few days, and it was really fun having her around!" she said, completely ignoring Sheldon's grimace at her words.

Georgie was about to throw a witty remark at Sheldon when he stopped—his eyes met Veronica's as she stood nearby, smiling at him.

"Let me take your stuff," she offered, moving to grab his things.

But Georgie stopped her, setting Missy down. "No, it's really heavy. Let me carry it," he said gently.

Veronica nodded and walked alongside him anyway. Sheldon and Missy followed to drop off Sheldon's suitcase in their room.

With a smirk, Georgie glanced at Sheldon. "Wanna bet?" he teased, carrying the suitcase toward Sheldon's room.

Sheldon, with all the pride of a boy genius with a 187 IQ, scoffed and accepted the challenge. "What kind of bet?"

Missy and Veronica exchanged confused looks, but Missy lit up at the spark in Sheldon's eyes. "I bet big brother will win," she said sweetly, egging him on.

Veronica chuckled and turned to Georgie, curious to hear more.

Georgie dropped Sheldon's suitcase and looked at the girls. "I told him my math test score will match his. And since I know he'll get an A+, if I do too, he has to go jogging with me every morning for a week."

Now that Missy and Veronica had some context, they turned to Sheldon, who looked visibly disturbed.

"Stop it, brother. Shelly will never do that," Missy sighed dramatically, her sarcasm clear—even in how she called him 'Shelly', something she never did unless she was teasing him.

Georgie laughed and ruffled her hair, making Veronica pout slightly.

"Don't be mean to your brother," Georgie said, then added, "It's not that he can't do it. He believes he'll win—which I seriously doubt."

"Alright!" Sheldon suddenly barked, clearly provoked. "If you don't get an A+, then you're taking me to the train store and buying me a new model train!"

Georgie grinned and extended his hand. "Do we have a deal?" he asked, wearing the smug smile of a businessman who knew the deal would work in his favor.

Sheldon stared at his hand and shook his head. "I'd rather not touch your hand. But yes, we have a deal."

Georgie giggled and messed up Sheldon's hair. "You better pick your running outfit. We're hitting the road before sunrise!."

Sheldon grimaced and slapped Georgie's hand away. "I'm the one who's going to win. With your concerts and record label taking up your time, statistically, you'll be too tired to beat me!"

Georgie laughed and shrugged off Sheldon's prediction. He turned to the girls. "You two look beautiful with your new hairstyles," he said warmly.

He kissed the top of Missy's head, and she beamed, tossing her hair dramatically. "I'm pretty like a princess!" she said, making Georgie chuckle.

"Alright, I better unpack." Georgie said, patting Missy's head again.

Missy looked at him and then at Veronica, who smiled. "Ohh, alright then!" she replied.

"Alright." Sheldon echoed, unaware of Georgie's real intentions, as he began unpacking his own things.

Georgie and Veronica left them behind. Missy sat on the bed and turned to Sheldon. "So? Did you watch the rocket launch?" her voice carried down the hallway as Georgie and Veronica entered his room.

Without wasting a second, Veronica wrapped her arms around Georgie and kissed him deeply.

"Mmm..." she moaned between kisses.

Georgie didn't pull away—he held her tighter, dropped his bag, and lifted her, his hands on her thighs.

"I missed you," Veronica breathed against his lips. Georgie carried her to the bed, and they began hooking up.

He didn't respond with words—his actions spoke louder. His kisses grew more passionate, his embrace tighter.

Their tongues danced as Georgie moved to kiss her cheek, ear, and down to her neck.

"Hmmm... Georgie..." Veronica gasped breathlessly. "...we... can't... h-hmm..."

She tried to speak but barely made any effort to stop him.

"…I missed you…" Georgie whispered into her ear and kissed her again.

"...We can't... do this..." she said, pushing him back gently, breathing heavily as she looked into his eyes.

"You're right..." Georgie said softly. He pulled away and walked to the door.

Veronica watched him with slight disappointment, surprised that he actually stopped.

Click.

The door locked.

"Now we can do this, right?" Georgie grinned as he turned back to her, while Veronica smiled awkwardly.

Just as Georgie stepped toward her—

"WHAT?!" Missy's voice pierced through the wall separating their rooms. Georgie froze mid-step.

Then another voice came from a different side of his room.

"WHAT?!!!" It was Mary.

Georgie blinked and stared at the door.

"Oh hell no!!!" George's voice boomed, loud and clear.

Georgie stood frozen, utterly confused. He turned to Veronica, who suddenly found the floor very interesting till her head was so low, looking at the floor with red face.
