Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: One-Hit Defeat of Colonel Smoker the White Hunter

"Heaven's Wheel — Trinity Sword!"

Three sword lights connected end to end, forming a triangular mark that landed directly on Smoker's body.

"It's over!" Mirajane smiled faintly.

"Really? That's great!" Nami exclaimed with joy.

Sergeant Tashigi, the bespectacled marine, widened her eyes in shock and gasped.

"No... it's far from over." Sullivan said calmly.

Without the use of Haki, those sword strikes were meaningless against a Logia-type user.

And indeed—

Where Erza's sword landed, there was no blood—only a burst of white smoke.

"An attack of that level is completely useless against me!" Smoker shouted.

He retaliated, swinging his seastone-tipped jitte and clashing against Erza's magical sword with a sharp metallic clang.

Caught off guard by the sudden counterattack, Erza was forced back several steps.

"Your ability can even neutralize my sword strikes?" Erza asked with raised brows, clearly surprised.

"Not just sword strikes—any physical attack is useless against me."Smoker replied without hiding anything.

To him, the invincibility of Logia types against physical attacks was common knowledge on the Grand Line.

"Immune to all physical attacks?" Erza muttered.

Unarmed, she moved with graceful agility.

Dozens of magic swords shot out from all directions, piercing Smoker's body full of holes.

Yet once again—no blood.

"Even that didn't work... what a troublesome ability." Erza's expression grew solemn.

"Erza's attacks didn't work at all... What's going on?" Mirajane, watching from the sidelines, was shocked.

"Logia-type Devil Fruit users can transform into natural elements at will, making them immune to all physical attacks," Sullivan explained calmly.

"Oh, I remember now—Smoker, the White Hunter of Loguetown, is said to be a Logia user!" Nami chimed in.

"Immune to all physical attacks... isn't that basically invincible? How do you even fight someone like that?" Mirajane asked in disbelief.

"They're not entirely invincible. Even Logia users have weaknesses—like seastone, Haki, and large-area energy attacks can affect them." Sullivan replied evenly.

"Seastone? Haki?" Hearing these unfamiliar terms, both Mirajane and Erza looked increasingly confused.

Just then, a loud explosion shook the street, snapping them out of their confusion.

"Master, if you don't stop this soon, Erza might destroy the entire street!" Mirajane warned.

While they were talking, Erza had already performed multiple re-equip transformations, launching a barrage of fierce attacks at Smoker with different weapons and tactics.

But against Smoker's Logia nature, they were all ineffective.

The residual shockwaves had left the street in ruins.

As one of Fairy Tail's infamous "Demolition Squad," Erza's trail of destroyed buildings rivaled even Natsu's. They received countless complaints every year.

Seeing that the entire street was on the brink of annihilation—

Sullivan finally stepped in.

After all, his original intent was just to let Erza experience what it was like to fight a Logia user—not to destroy the town.

"That's enough."

A commanding voice rang out.

A flash of golden lightning appeared.

Sullivan vanished from where he stood—then instantly reappeared between Erza and Smoker.

With his left hand, he grabbed Smoker's jitte.

With his right, he stopped Erza's sword.

"I'll take it from here." Sullivan said calmly.

"Yes, Guild Master!"Erza nodded and stepped back to watch.

"Perfect. Let's see just how strong your Rumble-Rumble Fruit really is!" Smoker said with eager battle spirit.

However.

In the very next second, Smoker's expression changed dramatically.

A terrifying pressure suddenly fell upon him from above. It bent his spine.

"This... Is this gravity?"

Smoker clenched his teeth, struggling against the invisible force.

His heart was in turmoil once again.

Wasn't this guy supposed to have a lightning-type ability?

Why was he using gravity?

As that thought crossed his mind.

The gravitational pressure intensified.

Smoker was crushed into the ground, cracking the street beneath him.

At the moment he was about to be flattened.

His body transformed into smoke, dispersing in all directions.

The white smoke reassembled behind Sullivan, and Smoker launched a counterattack with his seastone jitte.

But—he hit nothing.

Smoker saw Sullivan vanish from his vision in an instant.

Next, his wrist was twisted, and the jitte flew from his hand, landing in Sullivan's grasp.

"First of all, you came looking for this fight—so fix the street yourself. Second, while seastone weapons are useful, they can become a weakness too. Lastly—this jitte is mine now."

Sullivan smiled faintly.

An unprecedented sense of danger surged through Smoker's body.

His instinct took over—he turned to smoke and shot into the sky.

But Sullivan followed like a shadow.

The moment those three declarations ended—Sullivan struck the back of Smoker's head with the seastone jitte.

Whap! Boom!

Smoker's body flew backwards, smashing through a row of houses, and was finally buried under rubble.

With just one blow, Smoker the White Hunter, the feared Marine colonel…was defeated.
