However, the moment he reached the side of the house, a bluish-gray needle suddenly appeared out of nowhere and stabbed toward his back, as if it had been waiting for him to arrive.
It was a trap, and because of his desperation and unwillingness to lose this opportunity, Ethan had fallen right into it.
Ethan didn't sense the attack until it was already too late.
Yet, his battle instincts reacted almost at the same moment, and he twisted his body sideways, causing the needle to miss his heart.
PSSH!
The needle pierced through the side of his chest and came out from the other side, tearing through his lung in the process.
"Keuk—"
Ethan gritted his teeth as blood spurted from his mouth, and acute pain erupted through his chest.
Blood immediately dyed his clothes red once again, while a new dose of poison infiltrated his body through his punctured lung.
