The devil nodded rapidly. "Yes. I swear. I've told you everything."
Max stared at him for a moment. Then he pulled Dragonheart back.
The devil's expression loosened with relief.
But before that relief could fully settle in, Max's left hand rose. A blue void ring flashed across the air and entered the devil's chest.
The devil froze. His eyes widened in terror. "You said..."
"I said you'd end up worse than them if you lied," Max replied calmly. "I never said I'd let you go."
The void ring tightened. The devil's body collapsed to the ground, his cultivation sealed and his devil energy locked inside him. Max didn't kill him right away. Instead, black flames rose from his palm and slowly wrapped around the two dead devils first, devouring their bodies, bloodline energy, and remaining devil power.
Then he looked down at the sealed devil. "I still need more information before reaching Bloodstone City."
The devil trembled on the ground.
Max's expression stayed the same.
