Ervin's Abyssal Origin Descent responded instantly. The black sea rose higher than it ever had, and the broken gate behind him began to open. It did not open slightly. It opened far wider than before. A soundless pressure spilled out from behind the gate, and for one brief instant, several of the top geniuses felt their hearts tighten.
Max's eyes narrowed.
'That gate again.'
Ervin's voice remained calm, but his aura had clearly grown heavier.
"Abyssal Origin Descent, Return To Depth."
The broken gate pulled, and Orion's Starfall Extinction struck its edge.
Boom!
The star force exploded, but instead of spreading outward, it was dragged inward by the abyssal gate. The first layer of Starfall Extinction collapsed while still resisting. The second layer erupted and tore a crack across the gate's shadow. The third layer burned like a dying star and forced Ervin back half a step.
