The demon's crimson eyes widened violently.
His hands were still gripping the handle of the warhammer, and his thick arms were still bulging with strength, but no matter how hard he pushed down, no matter how much demonic energy he poured into his body, the weapon did not move even an inch. It was as if the warhammer had been caught by an immovable divine mountain.
"Impossible," the demon muttered, his arrogant sneer vanishing completely from his face.
That single word came out of his mouth with raw disbelief.
He could not understand it.
He could not accept it.
A human had stopped his full-powered hammer strike with one hand, and this human had done it without releasing any terrifying aura, without revealing any divine power, and without even taking half a step back.
Max looked up at the demon and smiled faintly.
"That is all?"
The demon's heart trembled the moment he heard those three words.
Before he could react, Max tightened his fingers around the head of the warhammer.
