Hua Jing walked swiftly down the long marbled corridor, her heels clicking rhythmically against the polished floor. The hotel was one of the most luxurious in the city — chandeliers glittering like frozen stars, gold trimmings gleaming at every corner, and attendants standing so still they almost looked carved out of stone. Only the elite of the elite stayed here, and on any other day, Hua Jing would have ignored everything around her.
Today, however, she was too irritated to notice the beauty.
At that very moment, a few doors down the corridor, Businessman Zhou was wrapping up a meeting with several important clients. One of the clients had just left, and the door was still slightly ajar.
