The next few days were a bit of a blur of getting back into the swing of things at the manor before his heat hit. He was fighting a timer that was ticking down, but he wasn't the only one keeping an eye on him.
Sam was the best observer. It seemed the boost that he got from the demon king was more related to how to help Cass, even if it made Gideon and Edgar uncomfortable. Cass couldn't exactly blame them. It wasn't as if he wanted help from the demon king either, but he was the one who got him into this mess. The very least he could do was give his best henchman an ability boost.
If Cass thought about it like a video game, it made him feel better. So he did.
Sam was also the one who quietly suggested to Cass that maybe he shouldn't resist his urges when getting closer to his heat. Resisting his urges in the first place had gotten him into this mess, so maybe it would be a good idea to let some of them come through?
