The camp was getting relatively crowded as more and more survivors found their way there. Iris had been smart, so when Ashcroft left Maw with her, she made sure that Maw created Shadow Drones that would be able to travel through this ruined world with ease, finding survivors and bringing them here.
There was a special type that had the ability to create wormholes. What it did was simple. One opened up a rift in one location, and the one at the camp would use its body to connect to that rift.
Seeing such a Shadow Drone, Damon couldn't help but imagine how much it would cost to make, not to mention its high rank and zero combat power. It was only bred to be a walking spatial gate.
Damon tried to help improve the camp as best he could, but the people there were not very welcoming of him, at least some of them. The demons were fine with him and saw him as some kind of messiah.
