Nova watched the quiet forest as everyone else slept. She watched the tree line as the branches swayed in the gentle breeze, *the cold seasons would be upon them soon!* Nova thought as she watched the trees.
It was still warm out which was good since they hadn't packed for the cold. She was just glad they didn't have to travel through the viltigan mountains towards the west.
The mountains were much harder to traverse then the forest that's why most people chose to go that though the forest is way more dangerous then the mountains.
A rustling sound in the trees startled Nova. She glanced toward the sound to see a casweil on a low branch watching her, it cocked its head then spread its wings and flew away. Nova watched it until it was gone.
One of the tents suddenly opened a soldier stepped out, he grumbled and walked towards the forest. It suddenly became erily silent, Nova narrowed her eyes as she watched the trees, their was something in the trees she couldn't see it but she could sense it.
The soldier suddenly came running out of the trees, he tried to get to the campfire, However before he reached the flame a large head appeared. Nova recognized it by its six milky white eyes and mangled fur, a Delufixe, it opened its skeletal jaw and bite the soldiers arm off. It tilted its head as it swung its large paw sending the injured soldier into a tree.
The sound awoke the others as they all came out of the tents, "whats go...." Nikta started but Avix who stood beside her clamped his hand over her mouth when he spotted the Delufixe. They all paled when the creature turned its head towards them, drooling. It snarled at them, cocking its head obviously trying to figure out where they were.
Faila stepped out of her tent, she spotted the creature and reached her hand back in to pull out her sword. She unsheathed the sword and walked over to Nova who was standing completely frozen watching it. Nova was pulled behind Faila, who aimed her sword at it.
The injured soldier cried out in pain on the ground. The Delufixe turned towards the noise and slammed its paw on top of him, it pierced him with one of its large claws. Faila started to slowly approach it as quietly as she could, once she was inches away she swung her sword onto its leg. A loud crunch rung through the area as the her sword sliced through the leg.
It wiped its head around toward her and swung its good paw into her sending her flying. Avix and Nikta joined the fight protecting the injured genral, Nova quietly walked to the dead soldier and snatched his sword. The Delufixe snarled and started making loud clicking noises. It leaned forward until it was face to face with Nikta who was trembling in fear. The creature opened its jaws and lunged forward Avix pierced one of the creatures eyes while Nikta with shaking hands slashed two of its ears off. The Delufixe screeched in pain shaking its head, Nova immediately ran under the creature piercing the sword into its stomach and slicing it open, its internal organs and blood splattered across the ground and Nova. Nikta collapsed onto the ground her hands shaking, Avix walked towards her. He sat down next to her passing her a rag to wipe her face.
Nova joined them along with Faila, She passed her rag, while wiping the blood off her face with the back of her hand. Nova noticed Faila's right arm was twisted at a bad angle, "are you alright?" She asked, "Yes, I'm fine!" Faila answered with a flinch.
"No your not, here let me see," Nikta said after she calmed down Faila sighed but obeyed letting Nikta check her arm, "it seem that your arm is broken!"
"Yeah, I figured that!" Faila retorted as she stood up, "we'll have to leave, the smell of all this blood will attract more predators, and none of us are in any condition to fight!"
Nikta nodded along with the others, " their should be a town over that way, we can stop over there and take a rest and we can get checked out for medical help. To make sure I didn't miss any hidden wounds!" She said as she stood up to along with Avix.
Nova stood up with them, "shouldn't we bury him," Nova asked her eyes flickering toward the limp body, "it doesn't feel right to just leave him there!"
"Yeah, we'll can take him with us and bury him in a cemetery or we can burn him which one do you think?" Faila responded glancing toward the dead body, "the lesser option would be more convenient then the first one!"
They all nodded in agreement, so they gradded leaves, twigs, sticks, and logs and placed them on top of the body. Avix snapped his fingers and set the pile on fire. They watched as the flames burned until it flickered out. Then they all approached the frightened Hilinixes. Nikta called out them and reached out to them. She easily calmed them down, once they were calm Nikta and Avix helped Faila onto hers.
Then they went to their own and hopped on. Nova was the last to climb on to hers, after she got on they all left heading towards Revul village a small town on the outskirts of Wiltok's Forest.

Viltigan mountains: a mountain range that stretched across half the entire western region, its one of the biggest mountain ranges.
Casweil: large owl like creature with two small horns on their heads and cat like ears and tail.
