After Kazuko arrived, it took a while before the rest showed up.
Kaikuh, Akari and Makoto arrived as the second team using an hour and fifty minutes to complete the exams.
Asahu and Mitsuki where the third to arrive, using an hours and fifty three minutes to complete the exams.
Raijin, Kagahma and Izumi where the fourth team to arrive, using two hours and six minutes to complete the exams.
Daiki, Shota and Haruka where the fifth team to arrive, using two hours and nineteen minutes to complete the exams.
Koda, Laila and Chiyo where the sixth team to arrive, using two hours and thirty eight minutes to complete the exams.
Unlike the rest Kazuko didn't take any damage, so all she needed to do was rest. Although Asahu and Mitsuki had little injuries, most of the contestants had life treating injuries which made Dr Mayumi busy as she attended to them immediately they arrived while Gildart and Damian calculated the time and announced it to them.
"Wait, something is wrong, why aren't those trouble makers here yet?" Gildart thought as the ground then began to shake.
"Is this an earthquake?" Dr Mayumi asked as she lost her balance and fell.
"It stopped" Damian thought as he then heard a loud noise.
"What's going on?" Dr Mayumi asked as she got on her feet.
"I don't know, but it looks like the maze is crumbling gradually" Damian said as Kaikuh became worried since she haven't seen Yami.
Meanwhile, Yami and Natsu are having an intense fight with the boss, although they're utterly loosing, Natsu and Yami still tried to think of a way to defeat him.
"This guy is on a whole different level, defeating him is hopeless, and the worst part in all this is that we can't escape. No matter where we run, the man quickly catches up to us" Yami thought as he tried attacking the man.
The man held Yami and punched him as he used him to hit Natsu, sending the both of them flying.
"You two might have beaten my people but don't think you can beat me with this power level. If you want to survive, I'll advise you to take this fight seriously" the boss said as the both didn't know what to do.
Earlier before this happened, Natsu and Yami where moving pretty fast inside the hall as Yami carried Natsu and ran while Natsu used his rope to catapult them, which pretty much made them to move beyond their normal speed limit.
But as they were moving, Yami sensed something coming and dodged it as a ball of light suddenly appeared which got him of guard as Natsu used his rope to pull them away.
"That was close!" The both thought as they dodged it.
When they looked towards the hole, they saw the boss coming through it which made them to prepare for a battle, but when they fully saw their enemy, they let down their guard since he looked like he was about to die.
"Is this the guy that threw the rock? No, he's not strong enough. But since he's holding a blade, maybe he's the one that sent the slash wave towards us. But that would mean that there's someone else who must have helped him out." Yami thought while Natsu tried to show kindness to the sick man in front of him.
"Natsu get out of there!" Yami said as Natsu jumped back using his rope.
"Don't get close to that man, he's pretty dangerous" Yami said as Natsu became confused.
"What are you saying? This man is weak and might be lost, we're..."
"Natsu think, if this was a different place I might have thought the same thing but how can someone as weak as him get here without a scratch, it doesn't make any sense"
"So what're you trying to say?"
"There's only two ways for someone to enter into this kinda place. It's either they're part of this exam or they're pretty powerful to infiltrate it without much people noticing"
Natsu became on guard as he looked back at the man.
"Bravo kid, you did well deducing that, I'm proud of you. Well your right, I'm not weak, I might look like that, but that's pretty much far from the truth" the boss said smiling as he thought, "This kid just now, from the way he spoke, it's like he's part of this exam or just well informed."
"I knew it! He's the boss of those guys we defeated. Is he here to take revenge? Well it's only natural since we defeated his people, but why does this guy send chills down my spine?" Yami thought as he looked at the man with an intense gaze.
"From the way the both are looking at themselves, I'm sure they don't like each other, but if this guy isn't sick why does he look like that? Is it because of malnutrition" Natsu thought as he unknowingly said, "You poor thing, I can't believe they forced you to work so hard and still barely give you any food to eat, no wonder you look like your dieing, you must be seriously malnourished"
Although Natsu said it in a really low tone since he was thinking out loud, the man took offense as he thought, "Is he mocking me?"
Yami on the other hand felt it was a little bit funny as he looked at the boss and began laughing which made Natsu confused as he asked, "Why are you laughing?"
"Come to think of it, you're right, the man looks pretty malnourished" Yami said as he continued laughing which made Natsu feel a little bit nervous while laughing awkwardly as he thought, "I can't believe I said that out loud, this man isn't going to hold back after this"
The boss took a deep breath and said, "Enough fun and games, let's fight, I'll make sure I deal with the both of you thoroughly"
Currently, the both of them are sent flying as they broke the walls of the maze.
Natsu tried fighting head on, but it was utterly useless since he was very bad at it.
The boss easily blocked his attacks and tossed him aside as Yami could only try to think of a way out.
"This guy is was more skilled than I am, the only thing we can do is run but that too is useless since he's way faster than us. Damnit, we're way too outmatched in this battle, plus from the way Natsu fights, I can now see why he was bullied, he's really bad at it. He doesn't even know how to hold a stance but yet when it comes to slaying beasts, he's a complete pro. Is he holding back? No, I don't think that's the case. 'Sigh'. I guess it's time I used the weapon Mister Damian gave me." Yami thought as he took a deep breath and stood up from the ground.
But before Yami could do anything, the boss kicked Natsu and disappeared as he went behind Yami and whispered, "Why are you not attacking, don't tell me you're giving up"
Yami swung the blade he was holding really fast but the boss quickly dodged it.
"He's gone" Yami thought as he became cautious.
"You two should have realized that you can't beat me by now, so tell me, why are you still fighting?"
"Damnit, he's already aware of that, which means he's just toying with us" Yami thought since he couldn't see the boss as he spoke.
Yami then received a punch on his tommy as the boss said, "Your the real problem, the other kid is just useless"
Yami flew and crash land as he coughed while trying to stand up.
Natsu saw the bag they put all the equipment and ran towards it as the boss walked towards Yami.
"Why are you with a useless kid like him, he doesn't have any magic and he's bad at defending himself. I'm sure he only made it this far because of your protection, so tell me, why's that?"
"You know nothing about Natsu, I wish you could say that once you know him personally" Yami said as he looked at the guy with an evil smile.
Natsu shot an arrow towards the guy but he easily caught it as he looked at Natsu and said, "You're really persistent, I guess I'll kill you first, at least it would make the other one go berserk!"
Natsu held the bag and looked at the guy with fear in his eyes as Yami ran towards Natsu front and said, "Don't think I'll let you do that!"
"Do you think you can really stop me?" The boss said as Natsu face changed as he wore a bag and held the other and went towards Yami.
"He's appearance has changed, he just looked a little bit dangerous" the boss thought as Natsu held Yami and said, "He's right we can't fight him in a place like this, we can't even beat him like we're now"
"What are you talking about? We can't just...!" Yami said as Natsu hooped on his back for him to carry him.
"Hey...!!!" Yami said in shock as Natsu looked at the boss and said with a very sincere smile, "Don't worry, we won't loose to you"
The man was shocked as Natsu said that making Yami to understand what was going on.
"He wants us to run away and formulate a plan" Yami thought as he held Natsu well.
Yami and the boss were surprised as Yami saw himself flying.
"Yami, make sure we don't crash into anything" Natsu said as Yami began stepping on the wall as he saw Natsu's rope in front of him while they moved through the space the boss came through.
"The kid isn't as useless as I thought. To be sincere, I was wondering what happened to his rope since he stopped using it to fight, I thought he couldn't control it since I saw it laying on the ground, who knew he would control it to get them out of here. Although he's clever, he's still bad at close combat. Wait, this two actually make a good team! While one is good in battling, the other is good at strategizing. No wonder they were able to infiltrate this place, they must be really skilled at stealing. But at such a young age, maybe I should take them in instead of killing them. But something is still bothering me, from the report I had, one was very skilled and the other was a monster who wasn't affected by magic, plus there's also a slim chance they're part of the exam. Come to think of it, I sense very little magic from that kid, plus from the way the golden hair kid spoke about him..., does that mean he's holding back? Maybe he's only able to fight seriously when magic is involved" the boss thought as he sighed.
"I'll know more once I continue to fight them" the boss said as he disappeared.
