Hwayeong clasped her hands behind her back and stared down at the ground, and Sinyeong, doing the same, looked down at her.
“So what now?”
“What do you mean?”
“About this ridiculous ‘daytime only’ rule. Weren’t you the one with all the tricks? Time to put that brilliant little brain to work.”
As Sinyeong pushed, Hwayeong lifted her head and studied him for a moment before replying evenly.
“Well... not as fun, but we don’t have much of a choice.”
“No choice? You mean you’re fine not seeing me at night?”
“If Her Majesty’s going that far, Daeyeong Lodge is probably crawling with guards already. Sneaking over the wall won’t be easy anymore.”
“Exactly!”
“Then we’ll just have to respect her wishes for now. I’m sure she has her reasons.”
Since it wasn’t like they couldn’t see each other at all—just only during the day—Hwayeong accepted it far too easily. Sinyeong stomped his foot.
“So you’re fine not seeing me?”
“We’ll see each other during the day, won’t we?”
