The moment the enemy squad advanced, Sakamoto Kenji struck.
Activating the combat mode of his exoskeleton armor, he immediately targeted the man leading the opposing formation—a rugged, imposing figure who was clearly their primary damage dealer—and launched his assault.
While Kenji's raw combat power wasn't earth-shattering, his attacks were incredibly difficult to defend against. Back in the day, his electric shocks had left Shin hovering between life and death, nearly allowing Domon Kyouji to finish him off.
Fighting Kenji was a grueling and thankless task. Opponents had to constantly watch out for his vast array of bizarre and unpredictable methods. One misstep, and they could find themselves hopelessly trapped, only to be finished off by mini-missiles, poison gas, or whatever other unconventional weaponry he had packed.
Kenji had refined all these tactics after his harrowing battle with Shin. He knew better than anyone that almost no one could break free from his electric shocks once caught. Even if someone could, it likely wouldn't be him dealing the final blow anyway.
Usually, against electric-attribute mages or similar foes, Kyouji would step in to handle the heavy lifting.
Meanwhile, Kisaragi Rei selected her target. Since the opposing squad lacked female members, she couldn't choose one to fight. Instead, she picked out a man clutching a staff, clearly a mage type.
Kyouji, displaying his usual boldness, charged forward alone to engage the remaining four enemies.
Ishigami Mamoru, feeling a bit competitive, wasn't about to be left out. He immediately plunged into the fray, locking horns with one of the four.
Wang, the enemy captain, was utterly bewildered. He had no idea what was happening.
They had scouted this area precisely to prevent ambushes from high ground. If they had been caught in such a trap, they likely wouldn't have withstood the assault, and they would have lost the battle.
Although their squad still had a decent amount of funds, it was always better to save where possible. With six members, losing a thousand points each was a heavy blow. Add to that the fifteen hundred points they could have won, and effortlessly losing a potential total of fifteen thousand points to the enemy was incredibly frustrating.
However, he didn't have much time to ponder. The first person to be attacked yelled in his direction, "Captain, save me!!!"
Wang instantly realized the situation was dire.
Sure enough, Shin, who hadn't yet found a suitable opponent, spotted him.
Aiming straight for the leader to break the squad's morale, Shin unleashed the divine technique he had been charging: Myōjinmon (Gracious Deity Gates).
The massive red torii gates crashed down, directly striking Wang.
The ground beneath Wang cracked and splintered. The man, who stood over six feet tall, was instantly crushed down to five feet, his knees driven deep into the earth.
Shin's combat power was truly terrifying.
This drew gasps of astonishment not only from the enemies but also from his own teammates. After all, they had fought him not long ago.
Back then, they hadn't realized the true extent of Shin's power. Once he activated Super Saiyan 2, he was overwhelmingly strong, defying all logic. But seeing him escape and capture Kenji had led them to subconsciously assume he couldn't beat them all.
It seemed that was far from the truth.
As the battle raged on, it became apparent that squad QAZ10050 was vastly outmatched. Kenji had already subdued his opponent.
Rei's fighting style was incredibly flashy. Despite her delicate appearance, her methods were relentless. Her opponent, the mage, found himself completely overwhelmed by her dazzling attacks, unable to find even a split second to cast his spells.
Although he possessed rich combat experience and managed to fire off a couple of quick spells during brief openings, none of them caused any actual damage to Rei.
But this couldn't continue. If he couldn't turn the tide soon, he would likely be battered to death by Rei's relentless pursuit.
While each of Rei's attacks didn't inflict massive damage individually, the constant "bleeding" effect meant few could withstand her assault for long.
Mamoru was facing a single opponent and didn't feel much pressure. Although he wasn't incredibly strong and was currently at a slight disadvantage, he was holding his own. The enemy had no way to defeat him quickly.
Kyouji alone was suppressing two enemies, forcing them to retreat continuously.
The opposing squad was simply too weak, lacking any real opportunity to fight back.
Shin hadn't even seen Kyouji transform into a tornado; he was just casually throwing kicks. He wasn't even using his signature Fūjin Kyaku (Wind God Kick) much, relying mostly on basic stances and long-fist techniques, yet his two opponents could barely fend him off.
Focusing on the leader was the right call. The enemy clearly had no advantage in this matchup.
Shin, fully committed, activated Super Saiyan 2, ready to unleash a devastating blow.
However, seeing Shin's power spike dramatically, Wang knew exactly what he had to do.
He immediately ordered his team to run, then took the lead, using his captain's token to instantly flee the instance.
The remaining four members of the opposing squad quickly followed suit and vanished.
Yoshida Haru watched from the back, dumbfounded. Kenji walked over and nudged him. "What are you staring at? Stop spacing out and get ready to head back. There's nothing to do in this wasteland."
Haru was still a bit dazed. "How did it end so fast? We crushed them just like that? This is way too quick."
Kyouji stepped up, adding, "This isn't fast at all; none of us even went all out. I reckon either Shin or I, going full throttle, could have wiped them out alone in this amount of time."
Rei gave Kyouji a playful kick. "Oh? Are you looking down on me, or what? You think I couldn't handle those weaklings if I went all out?"
Kyouji quickly laughed it off, trying to placate her. "I wouldn't dare! Of course, if you went all out, you'd definitely crush them too. No doubt about it!!"
Everyone burst into laughter. They were teammates, after all; exchanging some banter was completely normal.
Chatting and joking, the group concluded their mission and prepared to return to the Main God Dimension.
