Chapter 936 - [936] : Investment, the System Restarts

Even though Shin delivered those words with a completely harmless, innocent expression, Ryuta's face turned a mottled, dark purplish-red—like liver smeared with ketchup.

He looked like an absolute clown...

Knowing he had just lost massive face, he didn't even bother listening to whatever else Shin had to say. He snapped at his subordinates, "Ignore them. We're leaving!" He immediately spun on his heel and stormed out of the dueling arena.

At that moment, the entire arena erupted into joyous laughter.

Kenji and his crew, having secured the funds, immediately transferred two thousand five hundred Reward Points straight to Shin's smartwatch.

Shin raised his wrist and checked his watch. A transfer notification popped up on the screen: "Your Main God Dimension account has received 2,500 Reward Points. Transfer origin: ZXC Squad 12315 Captain, Sakamoto Kenji. Internal squad transfer: Zero transaction fees."

So internal squad transfers were fee-free. The Main God had set up a pretty solid system here. It functioned exactly like a highly efficient bank.

For many people, this setup was extremely beneficial. Some squads had a lot of members. For certain "farming" teams, this allowed the captain to exponentially increase their personal income. Consequently, their combat power would skyrocket, allowing them to completely crush other squads.

Of course, that was a topic for another day. It had absolutely nothing to do with Kenji's squad. After all, Kenji's combat power was strictly middle-of-the-pack within his own team. Forget about defeating Domon Kyouji—Kenji couldn't even guarantee he'd be able to beat Kisaragi Rei in a fight.

Seeing that Shin had received his points, Kenji kindly leaned in to offer some advice. "Shin, since you specialize in Ninjutsu, do you want to head over and buy some kunai or other basic gear?" To emphasize his point, Kenji gestured with his hands, mimicking the shape of a small dagger.

Shin smiled and shook his head. "I won't be needing those. My power level has pretty much outgrown basic tools. Rather than spending points on that stuff, I'm actually more interested in checking out the sci-fi tech exchanges."

Seeing Shin's firm stance on the matter, Kenji naturally didn't push the issue. After all, he trusted that Shin understood his own combat style far better than anyone else did.

Besides, Shin hailed from a high-tier universe like Dragon Ball; he wasn't some ignorant bumpkin. He even had a veteran Reincarnator spoon-feed him essential knowledge beforehand. So, Kenji figured he didn't need to babysit him.

Babysitting was usually reserved for freshly recruited, completely clueless rookies. The primary goal for the vast majority of veteran Reincarnators acting as guides was to scout for promising talent among the newbies to recruit into their own squads.

Otherwise, if the rookies were deemed unworthy of investment, those veteran Reincarnators generally wouldn't bother guiding them at all. As a result, neglected rookies often squandered their points on random, mismatched upgrades, leading to severely lacking combat power. Ultimately, they would inevitably perish in the infinite mission worlds.

Of course, there were exceptions.

There were also the lone wolves. Many of them had terrible, antisocial personalities—cold and isolated. It wasn't an issue with their combat capabilities, but rather their terrible temperaments that prevented them from integrating into a team.

As a result, their combat effectiveness in group settings suffered greatly.

Yet, ironically, these types were often incredibly enthusiastic about guiding rookies. Because these rookies gave them a much-needed sense of accomplishment. Many lone wolves actively sought out mentoring missions—not because they were strapped for points and forced to take the job, but purely because they craved some form of decent human interaction.

Consequently, these lone wolves would often instruct the rookies on how to optimize their exchange paths. However, this advice wasn't always beneficial in the grand scheme of things. To a large extent, the guidance provided by lone wolves did absolutely nothing to help the rookies eventually integrate into a proper squad.

More often than not, those rookies would later have to completely overhaul their combat roles and shift their focus just to fit into a team dynamic. Because for lone wolves, they were a one-man army. They didn't need teammates. They single-handedly performed all the roles that would normally be divided among a squad.

For instance, a lone wolf didn't just need high physical DPS; they also needed magical damage, solid defensive capabilities, and reliable healing skills. Ideally, they even had to buff and play support for themselves.

Building a character like that required an astronomical, almost wasteful amount of points. But in a large, balanced team, that kind of redundant, all-rounder toolkit was entirely unnecessary and an absolute waste of resources. In short, lone wolves forced themselves into a hyper-specialized yet overly comprehensive solo build.

In close-quarters, small-ring combat, most lone wolves struggled. But when these lone wolves actually engaged in a serious fight or took to the arena, they overwhelmingly preferred colossal battlegrounds—like a hundred-square-kilometer zone. In that kind of expansive environment, they could fully unleash every facet of their diverse combat power, making everyone within the zone tremble in fear.

Many people mockingly referred to these high-tier lone wolves as "walking artillery platforms" or "cowards." It was a derogatory jab, implying they only knew how to hide in the shadows and take cheap shots from afar, too afraid to engage in a direct, head-on clash.

But deep down, everyone knew the truth. In the Reincarnation Worlds, there was only life and death, success and failure.

There was no such thing as "face" or "honor." No one had the right to judge someone else's survival tactics.

Bringing the focus back to the present, Shin turned to his squad leader. "Captain, do you know what our next mission is going to be? Or at least what kind of world we'll be heading into?"

Kenji shook his head. "How would I know? Our next mission marks our thirtieth run, which means it's a Team Battle. I have no idea what the exact scenario will be."

Hearing this, Shin simply nodded and stayed quiet. To him, it didn't really matter what the mission entailed—they were all basically the same. After all, he still wasn't entirely familiar with the deeper mechanics of these Main God quests.

In short, the next match would pit them directly against other Reincarnator squads. This battle was highly likely to be a brutal bloodbath. He needed to make preparations early.

As soon as he returned to his personal quarters, Shin opened the Main God's exchange interface. He immediately noticed the "Super Saiyan" bloodline listed in the catalog.

However, the base Super Saiyan transformation cost a staggering 2,000 Reward Points plus a B-Rank reward. Upgrading to Super Saiyan 2 cost an additional 3,000 Reward Points.

Looking at those price tags, Shin realized he had hit the absolute jackpot. The Super Saiyan bloodline was incredibly valuable! And his own personal System had just handed it to him for free.

Just factoring in Super Saiyan 1 and 2, he had essentially leeched 5,000 Reward Points worth of power directly from his personal System.
