Viessa looked around the lively courtyard, the laughter of nobles and the soft notes of elven music filling the air. The newlyweds were surrounded by well-wishers, and the celebration was in full swing.
But something bothered her.
Her sharp eyes scanned the crowd again.
No Liana.
Her smile thinned.
"Dear, I'm going to check on Liana," Viessa said, brushing invisible dust off her sleeves.
He looked over, puzzled. "Didn't she step away to attend their young master?"
Viessa shook her head slightly. "It's been too long. She's missing her sister's moment. I'll be back shortly."
She didn't wait for a reply. With graceful steps, she made her way across the courtyard, through the arched side path that led to the guest rooms. A few guards bowed as she passed, recognizing the queen's sister-in-law.
Inside her mind, she sighed.
