Diana quietly observed Lair through her servant Carter.
Although she had never left the Contract Land in person, Diana had seen far too many things through the eyes of countless servants.
So she could discern that Lair's words weren't true, at least not entirely.
Of course, this was quite normal; Diana didn't believe that the Tongue would dare entrust his secrets to a black merchant who maintained relationships solely for money, surely there was more to it.
And Diana intended to uncover this layer of connection.
After all, using him to better approach and understand the Tongue, or directly setting a trap for the Tongue, were actions with returns far greater than the costs, leaving Diana with no reason not to proceed.
Moreover, no one in this world was better at manipulating people's hearts than her.
Diana slightly raised the corners of her mouth, then directed Carter to continue questioning, "So what do you plan to do with the money?"
