Chapter 211 - Joining Shrek

While Xiao Tian and his family were celebrating their newfound path, things were quite different on Michael's side.

Michael and his companions had already joined Shrek Academy—but not in the spotlight, nor with the fanfare one might expect. The reason? All three of them had absorbed Spirit Bones—exceptionally rare ones—and were deliberately keeping a low profile.

Michael had acquired a 100,000+ year Chameleon King Head Spirit Bone, which granted him a unique disguise ability. With this bone alone, his spirit power had hidden to Level 28. Though his martial spirit—a book spirit—appeared plain and unimpressive, the reality was far more dangerous. He deliberately masked his presence.

Felicia, too, had absorbed a 90,000-year-old Chameleon King Head Spirit Bone, which subtly altered her martial spirit. Once a majestic Black Lion, it now appeared as a far simpler Black Cat. Her spirit rings now consisted of two yellow and one purple, mirroring Michael's configuration. Her spirit power was also masked at Level 28.

Qian Renxue followed a similar path. Originally possessing the divine Angel Martial Spirit, she used her Angel Spirit Bone to disguise it as a Light Wing Swan—elegant, yet far less threatening. Her true strength remained hidden, now appearing to others as Level 28, just like the others.

These powerful spirit bones were given to them by the Spirit Hall, which had existed for over ten thousand years and possessed immense resources, including many Titled Douluo and a vast collection of high-quality Spirit Bones. To Spirit Hall, giving away a few was no great matter—especially since both Michael and Felicia were considered high-value talents, and Qian Renxue came from a lineage tied directly to the Seraphim Lineage.

Thus, the trio entered Shrek Academy quietly—without fanfare, without challenge. They blended in, no different from any other students.

They also found Dai Mubai—and right now, his face was covered in bandages, courtesy of the beating he had received from Mo Luochen the previous day.

Seeing him, Renxue tugged at Mo Luochen's sleeve as he simply nodded.

"Why are we here?" she asked, looking around. "There isn't even a single proper spirit training facility in sight."

Mo Luochen replied calmly, "I just found this place interesting. And besides, if we really needed training, we could've just stayed back in Spirit Hall."

She nodded at his words, though still a bit puzzled.

"Just relax. I'm pretty sure we're here for something interesting," Felicia said from the side with a smirk.

Renxue simply nodded, no longer questioning it.

Dai Mubai, still wrapped in bandages from the beating Mo Luochen had given him the day before, stepped forward and spoke.

"You all, come with me," he said, clearly irritated as he glanced at Mo Luochen and his companions—then at the aristocratic-looking young woman, Ning Rongrong, and finally at a beautiful woman he clearly recognized—Zhu Zhuqing, his fiancée. Tang San and Xiao Wu were also among them.

"You guys, just follow me directly to the fourth test," he said before turning and dashing off, with the others quickly following behind.

"Hey! How come they get to go but we can't?" a kid from the waiting group shouted in frustration.

Dai Mubai glanced back and replied flatly, "If you're under 12 and your spirit power is at level 25 or above, you can come with us."

The boy fell silent at that, eyes dropping to the ground. Meanwhile, the rest of the hopeful applicants continued waiting patiently in line, preparing for their own test.

Dai Mubai led the group straight to the fourth test area, where a middle-aged man sat casually on a chair, half-dozing off. Dai Mubai went up to him and nudged him awake. "Hey, we've got seven monster-level test candidates here," he said as he gestured toward Luochen and the others.

The man stirred, then stood up with interest. "Good, good. Now for your final test—you all just have to last one stick of incense against me," he said with a slight smirk.

"Wait, what? You're level 76! How can they possibly fight against you?" Dai Mubai protested.

Zhao Wuji simply shook his head. "Relax, they're already way ahead of their peers. Surely they can handle a basic assessment like this."

Dai Mubai nodded reluctantly.

"Now," Zhao Wuji continued, "you have your time. Go and form your teams. Meet me together when you're ready."

He stepped into the middle of the ground, crossing his arms as he waited.

"I think we should introduce our martial spirits and levels to better coordinate," Tang San said calmly.

He stepped forward first. "Martial Spirit: Blue Silver Grass. Level 29, Control System Spirit Master."

Next came Ning Rongrong. "Martial Spirit: Seven Treasures Glazed Pagoda. Auxiliary System Spirit Master, Level 26."

The others followed suit, stepping forward one by one to introduce themselves, their expressions calm but determined.

Xiao Wu gave a playful spin and bowed lightly. "Martial Spirit: Soft Bone Rabbit. Level 29, Agility System Spirit Master."

Zhu Zhuqing was next. Her voice was cold and precise. "Martial Spirit: Hell Civet. Level 27, Agility System Spirit Master."

Felicia stepped forward confidently, arms crossed and a sly smirk on her face. "Martial Spirit: Nightmare Cat. Level 28, Attack Spirit master."

Qian Renxue followed, regal and composed. "Martial Spirit: Light-Winged Swan. Level 28, Support and Assault System Hybrid."

Michael said, "Martial Spirit: Book of Elements. Level 29. All-rounder Spirit Master."

"All-rounder? What does that mean?" Ning Rongrong asked, curious. Another girl nearby answered before he could. "It means he can switch roles—be an assault-type, agility-type, or even an auxiliary-type Spirit Master. Basically, he can do anything."

"You're telling me someone like that actually exists?" Ning Rongrong asked again, clearly skeptical.

Michael just shrugged casually. "You don't need to believe it. Just watch. My spirit speaks for itself—that should be proof enough."

For the first time, Ning Rongrong—who had always been proud of her noble status and never let anyone question her—felt oddly challenged. She crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. "Hmph, then let me see for myself," she said coolly.

Michael nodded without hesitation.

Tang San stepped in to organize the formation. "Alright. Luochen and Xue will be paired with Xiao Wu and Renxue. You'll be the front line. I'll stay at the rear with Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing, supporting the rest. Ning Rongrong, focus on buffs. Zhu Zhuqing, you'll stay close to me for defense and counterattack."

"Any objections?"

There was silence for a moment, until Renxue smirked. "No objections… except for one thing."
