It was the guardian god of several villages, receiving a good harvest of blood food every year.
And humans, for the sake of profit and ambition, would ask it for assistance, it would gladly devour more blood food, waging wars alongside humans.
It and other 'guardian gods' would control the human population while enjoying stable advancement.
