It turned out that there was a cave nearby belonging to the "Transcendent," and they had received news that a group of six had come to subdue it. Greed got the better of them, however, and after subduing the first cave, they didn't stop there but ventured deeper.
Eventually, they encountered an even larger group of "Transcendent" last night and were tragically ambushed, resulting in nearly all of them being wiped out with only two escaping; the rest were all killed.
After telling you everything, they supported each other as they left. Watching the girl shivering with a dispirited silhouette, a shadow fell over your heart. You knew that, unseen by you, there were countless such massacres and violations against humans, and even Transcendents were no exception. The plight of humanity was still far from comfortable, thus your resolution to become stronger was further solidified.
