So, did Hansen come to the Kings to help the rookies grow?
Obviously not!
He joined the Kings to prepare for becoming the team owner someday, for those future stakes that could reach a billion.
And those stakes are contingent on winning championships, or to be more precise, as many championships as possible.
The more championships, the higher the team's market value, and the higher the team's market value, the more money Hansen can cash out from his stakes.
The reason Hansen was so angry last summer was not because Divac traded Tatum for Leonard, but because they did it without consulting him and ultimately failed.
If Divac had consulted Hansen beforehand, such a thing wouldn't have happened because Hansen knew that in today's world, Tatum couldn't be traded for Leonard.
If they really wanted Leonard, the Kings would at least have to give up Mitchell and Tatum, and that obviously wasn't worth it.
