"Thank you," Kiyono Lin said as she held a cup with both hands, blew away the steaming vapor, and took a sip.
Dubian Che also picked up a cup, "Reiko, has it not started yet?"
Reiko glanced towards the steamer, "The sticky rice just went in; it's going to be a while."
After she spoke, she yawned, muttered 'No good, I need to go back and get some more sleep,' and turned to go inside.
Left standing there, the two of them didn't know what to do next.
"Wanna go for a walk?" Dubian Che asked.
"You decide," Kiyono Lin said, a bit overwhelmed by the loud crowd around her.
After they finished their sweet tea, they left the front yard and went to the nearby riverbank.
The withered grassland had a persimmon tree with no leaves to be seen, just bare branches with orange persimmons hanging from them.
The riverside was also filled with similarly withered reeds, tall, and on a windless morning, the fluff swayed slightly.
