The newcomer was Ye Fan. He, too, was searching for the fugitives and had stumbled upon Miyaji Aoi by chance, so he followed her.
"Run! Why don't you keep running?" Ye Fan said.
Miyaji Aoi asked, "Who are you? Why are you following me?"
Although she spoke the language of the Divine Land quite well, she could not conceal her Japanese accent.
"Still pretending?" Ye Fan retorted. "We've already met. Are you going to keep up the act?"
Called out by Ye Fan, Miyaji Aoi knew she could no longer hide the truth. "Hand over the documents!" he demanded. "Or I'll splatter your blood right here!"
"The documents are forged!" Miyaji Aoi blurted out. She seemed to realize her mistake and quickly tried to backtrack, but Ye Fan had already sensed something was amiss. "The documents aren't with me," she said, changing her tune. "But if you kill me, you'll never find out where they are!"
"Is that so?" Ye Fan said with disdain.
