If there was any way he could avoid considering whether to keep the position of Police Chief, there was only one possibility: Chief Matthew falling into his hands.
Mayor Wade laughed and said, "Is this person by my side?"
"How would I know?"
The Deputy Governor's mood worsened, "Are you refusing?"
This sentence had a hint of threat, but Mayor Wade was not afraid at all, "If you think so, then fine by me."
The Deputy Governor was so angry he laughed, "Do you think getting hold of Matthew can threaten me?"
"Wade, you're not a child anymore. Can't you be a bit more mature?"
Mayor Wade showed no weakness or retreat, "I'm not threatening anyone, nor do I intend to bicker with anyone. I'm calmly communicating with you now."
"You're asking me to admit something I can't admit to; what do you want me to do?"
The Deputy Governor raised his voice, "We both know what's going on. While you're playing with me, aren't you also fooling yourself?"
