The Mayor was in a good mood as he flipped through the newspaper in his hand, though it was clear his mind wasn't on it.
He occasionally glanced up at the clock, as if something time-related was capturing his full attention.
As the clock's hand pointed to 3:20, the Mayor folded the newspaper and placed it on the table beside him, "Speaking of which, that person... should have arrived at the police station by now, right?"
The secretary added from the side, "Bru, sir."
"Yes, yes, Bru, he should have already received the appointment letter."
Thinking of this brought an even bigger smile to the Mayor's face; he gave an assignment to the secretary, "What do you think they'll do?"
The secretary pondered for a moment and said, "They'll call you."
Just then, the phone on the desk rang abruptly. The two exchanged a knowing glance, sharing a smile of foresight.
The secretary walked over to the desk, picked up the receiver, "This is the Mayor's office."
