After May Day, both study and life got back on track, and the new writing progressed at a turtle's pace of two thousand words a day.
The English competition was relatively easy for her, as was the Chinese competition, which consisted mostly of basic questions and cultural knowledge. The key to PK is experience accumulation; besides knowing the answers, one must write the characters correctly. Compared to English, she received materials prepared by her teacher for Chinese and, after transforming at night, she would study and memorize them in the space provided.
In early June, these two competitions kicked off. As a student in Beijing, the preliminary round did not delay her on the road; she simply rode her bike to participate. If fortunate enough to enter the semifinals, it would be held in July.
