Chapter 43 - Chapter 42: Arriving in Loguetown

They were all celebrating that they would finally set out on their journey.

"Finally back at sea," Oliver said.

"Yeah, and we had a great time. Nami, your village really knows how to have fun," Usopp said while trying to make something.

"It's not that... they were just really happy to finally have freedom," Nami said, stretching a bit.

"So they'll probably keep celebrating for quite a while," Oliver said, sitting down and looking at the clouds.

While they were relaxing, a bird arrived with newspapers for sale.

"You raised the price again? Don't you think it's already too expensive?" Nami asked the bird, which just made a sound. "If you raise it again, I won't buy it anymore."

"Who cares what the newspapers say?" Usopp asked as he worked on a marble.

"I buy the paper every day so I don't become an idiot," Nami said, already holding it.

"So you've finished collecting money, right?" Usopp asked.

"Don't be stupid, I just solved the village's problem. This time I'm working for myself. I hate poor pirates," Nami said, making Usopp move away from her.

"Hey, stay back! I'm working on my new secret weapon, Deluxe Tabasco Star—if a bad guy gets one of these in the eye..." Usopp said while trying to put hot sauce into a marble, but Luffy fell on top of him, causing it to go into his own eyes.

"Get out of here, damn it!" Sanji shouted.

Usopp screamed in pain while trying to stop his eyes from burning.

"Why?! Can't I just have one?!" Luffy asked, not understanding why he wasn't allowed.

"No! Those are Nami-san's tangerine trees! I won't let anyone touch them! My love security is perfect!" Sanji said, blocking anyone from getting through.

"He uses it like it's a tool," Zoro said, watching how Sanji acted around Nami.

"He's really stupid about that. If he fights a woman, he'll end up dying if she's strong," Oliver said, pulling out a pie from his inventory and starting to eat it.

"The world is in absolute chaos. There was a coup d'état in Vira," Nami said, sitting in a beach chair while reading the newspaper.

"It would be strange if the world wasn't in chaos. With so many pirates and marines fighting everywhere, it would be really weird if nothing was happening," Oliver said, finishing his pie and reading some of the newspaper as well.

While reading, a sheet fell out from one of the pages.

"Oh, an announcement," Luffy said, looking at the paper on the ground.

Everyone looked at it—it was a bounty poster.

"AAAHHH!!"

Luffy, Usopp, and Nami shouted, some scared and others fascinated.

"Shishishi! Look, now they want us dead or alive! It says 30 million!" Luffy said happily now that he had a bounty.

"Once again, your inability to see how serious this is surprises me. Don't you realize people will come to kill us now?!" Nami said, frustrated. "With that bounty, the Headquarters will definitely come after you, along with powerful bounty hunters."

"If you remember, a marine attacked us even when we didn't have a bounty, right? It's not that different from before," Oliver said as if it were normal.

"But now the whole world will be after us!" Nami shouted angrily.

Usopp was also happy, since the back of his head could be seen behind Luffy.

"That's just the back of your head. Why are you happy?" Sanji asked, annoyed.

"Come on, if you try hard enough, you'll get a bounty too," Usopp said.

"It's time we stop slacking off in the East Blue," Nami said, having calmed down.

"That's why we're going to the Grand Line!" Luffy shouted, making Sanji and Usopp cheer.

"The Grand Line… we're finally going to the most dangerous part of the sea," Oliver said, looking at the horizon until he noticed something.

'We should be heading to Loguetown now... but I don't see it anywhere,' Oliver thought, trying to spot it.

"Yeah! Let's celebrate heading to the Grand Line!" Luffy shouted.

"What the hell are you talking about? We just came out of a two-day party and you already want another one?" Oliver said, not believing what he heard.

"That was their party. Now it's our party," Luffy said with a smile.

"I can't believe what I'm hearing," Nami said.

"There has to be a point where he can't keep eating," Usopp said.

"Yeah, when we run out of food. Luffy, calm down with the party—better wait until we reach the Grand Line and celebrate there," Oliver said.

"Hey, there's an island ahead," Zoro said, not paying attention to their conversation.

"An island? If we see that island, it means we're close to the Grand Line. That must be the famous Loguetown, also known as 'The Town of the Beginning and the End.' It's the place where the Pirate King Gold Roger was born and also where he was executed," Nami said.

"The place where the Pirate King died," Luffy said, looking toward the island.

"Shall we go?" Nami asked.

"Yeah," he said excited.

"Then full speed ahead," Nami ordered.

"YES!"

Taking their positions, they moved forward toward Loguetown.

Even though they were close, it took them a day to arrive, until they finally reached Loguetown.

"Whoooo! What a big city!" Luffy said, looking at it.

The city was incredibly large—so large that it covered the entire island.

"So this is where the Great Age of Pirates began," Sanji said.

"It's bigger than I thought," Oliver said.

"Alright! I'm going to see the execution platform!" Luffy said decisively.

"I bet I can buy some good ingredients here. And also find some beautiful ladies," Sanji said, thinking about women.

"I think I'll go look for some equipment," Usopp said, thinking about what he could get.

"I'll go buy something too," Zoro said, planning to buy katanas.

"I'll lend you some money—with 300% interest," Nami said, laughing a bit.

"I'm going to buy a few things. We're missing several ingredients, cannonballs, and I also want to get some training equipment. Sanji, make a list of the ingredients we need," Oliver said, handing him a list.

"Do you want me to lend you some money?" Nami asked.

"Nah, I've got enough to buy what I need. You go buy whatever you want," Oliver said.

"You're going shopping like that, with your arm?" Nami asked.

"I'm almost healed. I'll only have this until tomorrow and I'll be fine. Besides, I can store it in that place," Oliver reminded her.

He placed his hand on Nami's head, ruffling her hair as he walked away, handing her a bag of Belly.

"Huh?"

Nami checked—it was about one million Belly—and when she looked up, Oliver had already blended into the crowd.

'She needs to enjoy herself after living like that,' Oliver thought.

Luffy went to the execution platform.

Sanji went to buy ingredients.

Usopp went to buy things to improve his equipment.

Zoro went to buy katanas.

Nami went to buy clothes that could help in the Grand Line.

Oliver went to walk around while buying the things the Going Merry needed.

"I hope there's not a single mission on this island. A break would be nice. I don't want any trouble before what has to happen," Oliver said.

[Mission: Leave Loguetown unharmed]

[Reward: Two Weapon Gacha Tokens, Fighting Styles Gacha Token]

'I need to learn to shut my damn mouth,' Oliver thought angrily.

"Is something different going to happen on this island?"

Annoyed, he went to explore the city, trying to clear his head.
