The room was silent except for the hum of the AC and the uneven sound of their breathing. The sheets were tangled around their bodies, the air heavy with the scent of sweat, sex and something neither of them dared to name.
Mina lay on her side, staring at the ceiling. Her hair plastered damp against her temples. She hated the warmth curling in her chest. She made lust drive her to this situation. A soft groan of frustration left her lips. Naarah was right, she gave in so easily. How did what happened in the living room end up in her room? And not to talk about Naarah being in the next room. She covered her face with her palms. Anger, frustration and embarrassment are brewing in her chest. If Naarah had heard it, then Ellie.
"Oh God. What have I done," she muttered against her palms.
Aaron shifted beside her, an arm sliding around her waist as if he had every right to claim her. His lips brushed her shoulder, lazy, and possessive. "Princess..." His voice is rough. His lips travelled from her shoulder to her neck.
"Don't," Mina said sharply, her throat tight.
He stilled. For a moment, she thought he'd pull away. But then his hold tightened, his chest pressing firm against her back.
"You can pretend this meant nothing. But it meant something to me, princess."
Mina pulled herself away from him. Her eyes burned with tears. She shoved his chest away from her until his hands slipped away.
"You don't get to say things like that Aaron. This was a mistake."
Her words sent shivers down his spine. A mistake. His jaw clenched. He trembled beside her.
"A mistake? You call this a mistake? Your body said something else, Princess. Your body recognised who was touching you. Who was making you feel right?" Aaron snapped.
Mina rolled and scoffed at him. She pointed a finger at his chest.
"You don't get a say in this, Aaron. You left remember. You left me when I needed you the most. You made me believe you were dead."
"But I'm back, princess. I came back. I'm here in your bed. Naked in your bed. You felt me inside you and so did I. We came at the same time in this bed. This should tell you I'm here to stay, baby." Aaron said desperately. He held her hands in his and gave them a light squeeze.
Her face flushed from his words. He can't be saying things like that. Now her stupid heart is acting weird, and so is her body.
"A-"
He sealed her mouth with his. He didn't want to hear any words coming from her mouth. Her words sting his heart, and he doesn't know how to react. He can't live another day with her. And she knew that. She was his everything. He cupped her face with his hands and kissed her deeply. Mina hummed against his lips. She pulled away slowly and Aaron rested his head on hers.
"Please, baby. Please. Give me another chance. I'm begging you."
