Chapter 99 - Attack 2

The black SUV tore down the road, headlights slicing through the night. Aaron's knuckles are white on the steering wheel, his jaw tightened. Beside him, Ken loaded his weapon with a calm precision that only marked his own fury.

They were minutes away when the first crack of gunfire echoed across the hills. Aaron's heart dropped.

"Shit, we're late" Ken murmured.

"No," Aaron slammed his foot on the accelerator. The engine roared.

As they rounded the final bend, the mansion came into view, flames licking one side of the building, the night alive with muzzle flashes.

Fernando's men swarmed the grounds, shadows against chaos. Several of Aaron's men lay motionless on the driveway.

"Son of a" Aaron bit down his curse, rage burning hotter than the fire. He skidded the SUV to a halt, tires screeching.

"Go through the front and you're dead before you see her," Ken warned, eyes narrowing at the sheer number of men.

Aaron's chest heaved, but he forced his voice low.

"Mina is inside and I don't care if it's a trap."

Ken smirked, grim but unshaken, snapping the magazine into place.

"Then let's make them regret setting foot on our land."

Together, they threw open the doors, the night immediately showering them with gunfire.

Bullets pinged off the SUV's armoured frame as Aaron ducked low, returning the fire with precision. Ken moved like a predator, covering Aaron's sides as they advanced.

Each step closer to the mansion felt like dragging through hellfire.

The hell reeked of smoke, blood and betrayal.

And above all the chaos, one thought screamed in Aaron's head, drawing down the gunfire.

"Princess, hold on."
