Chapter 264 - Chapter 264: Birka's Secret

Enel slowly regained consciousness, his body feeling strangely devoid of pain.

"Was it just a dream?"

His eyes snapped open, and he immediately saw the Blue Sea dweller standing before him, watching him with an amused smile.

He was in a forest. What about the shrine? Had his subordinates been wiped out by this man?

"Damn it..."

The realization hit him—he had been struck down in an instant. It wasn't a dream.

But why was he completely unscathed?

"No need to be surprised. I healed your injuries—don't look so shocked. Where I come from, healing abilities are pretty common."

That's right. Almost everyone back home knew about healing abilities. It wasn't unusual at all.

Enel coughed, trying to mask his embarrassment. As a god, he couldn't afford to act like some clueless country bumpkin.

"Yeah, right!" he suddenly burst out. "Who the hell are you?! There's no way all Blue Sea dwellers are this strong!"

"It's true that most Blue Sea people who've come to Skypiea were pretty weak," Enel continued, his expression darkening. "But you... you're different!"

Wright rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I suppose you have a point. There aren't many Blue Sea dwellers at my level."

Enel sighed in relief.

Then Wright added, "But there are at least a dozen or so. In fact, I just took one down a few days ago."

Enel's eye twitched.

"And if we're talking about people who could beat you down like a misbehaving child, there are probably three or four dozen."

The world spun around Enel for a moment.

Lies! He had to be lying! There was no way a god could be this weak!

"Now then," Wright continued. "We've had our fight. Can you answer a few of my questions now?"

Enel's prideful nature made him instinctively want to retort with something grandiose, but he hesitated.

"What do you want to know?"

This Blue Sea dweller had defeated him. He had the right to ask questions.

Not that Enel was scared or anything!

Yeah, that was it!

Wright's mouth twitched. Though Enel possessed formidable Observation Haki, which he had combined with his own abilities to create the vast "Mantra" network covering all of Skypiea, his mental fortitude was lacking.

With Wright's mastery of Observation Haki—enhanced through multiple evolutions—he could sense Enel's thoughts clearly.

Wright's Haki was first developed through awakening via the power of the Holy Light, granting him the ability to perceive emotions and intentions.

After that, through Queen Otohime's guidance, it helped him develop "Marking."

Then with Issho's teachings, his range of perception greatly expanded.

Finally after the fierce battle with Golden Lion Shiki, which led to the awakening of limited "Future Sight."

At this point, Wright had pushed Observation Haki to near perfection.

Enel's "Mantra" had a unique aspect—allowing others to be drawn into the same network. But that was a fusion of his Devil Fruit powers and Observation Haki, similar to how Holy Light had influenced Wright's own abilities.

Still, that could be studied later. Wright had come to Skypiea for a different reason.

"The Sky Island Birka—you destroyed it, didn't you?"

Enel flinched. "That's your question? Yes, I did it. I wiped it out completely."

Wright's eyes locked onto him, golden sparks crackling around his body. "Why? Why would you destroy your own homeland?"

Enel initially thought of making up an excuse, but suddenly, a powerful pressure emanated from Wright.

There was no doubt—if he lied, he'd be cut down again.

"What did you do to my shrine? And my subordinates?"

"They're fine," Wright said casually. "I put them to sleep for a while. Don't worry, hardly anyone saw you getting cut down."

So this man had neutralized all of Enel's subordinates silently, before even striking him down?!

How?!

Enel was beginning to grasp just how terrifying this Blue Sea dweller was. After a long silence, he finally spoke:

"Birka was larger than Angel Island and valued strength above all else."

"There was a ruin there. Years ago, I stumbled upon it. Inside, I found... a massive warship."

Wright's eyes gleamed with golden light. "A warship?"

"That's right," Enel said. "The ruin was strictly forbidden to enter for generations. But after I obtained the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, there was nowhere I couldn't go."

He recalled the moment vividly. "With my power to become lightning itself, I easily entered the ruins and discovered the warship."

"And I realized—it could fly!"

Wright's thoughts raced. If Pluton could only sail the seas, then how could it compare to the world-ending power of Poseidon and Uranus? A flying battleship... now that made sense.

Enel's voice grew distant, lost in memory. "When I discovered it could fly, I was overjoyed."

"Birka had a legend—our ancestors came from the boundless land, Vearth, beyond the sky, the true domain of the gods! Our real homeland!"

"But we Sky People couldn't return. Our wings were mere ornaments of tradition, symbols of our aspirations."

"Yet, with this warship, I finally had a way to reach the infinite land! That's why I had to learn how to operate it!"

Wright remained silent, listening intently. Enel was one of the few people in this world suffering from an extreme case of delusions of grandeur.

Though, at least he hadn't started ranting about a "Golden City" just yet.

"So, I began studying how to control the ship," Enel continued, his hand crackling with electricity. "But soon, I discovered it had no power source. Its energy core was shattered. However..."

A crazed smile spread across his face. "I realized that my own power—electricity—could fuel it!"

"The warship's systems were in ruins, but there was no doubt!"

"It was meant for me all along!"

"I was truly a god, destined to reclaim my throne in the heavens!"

Just as Enel began cackling maniacally, Wright's golden lightning flashed briefly, jolting him back to reality.

"And then? Keep talking."

Enel shot him an annoyed glare but grudgingly continued. "I studied its power systems, hoping to restore it."

"But I soon discovered—it wasn't just a means of transportation."

"It was a warship. A weapon of destruction!"

"So…" Enel's grin turned wicked. "I resolved to restore it. This ship wasn't just a vessel..."

"It was the chariot of a god! A weapon of war! A symbol of my divine authority!"

"With it, I could rally my Divine Guard, invade the boundless land, Vearth, and rule the heavens as the King of the Gods! Wahahahaha!"

Wright sighed, shaking his head.

"This guy... he's hopelessly delusional."
