He shouted out to his friend Paul drawing his attention. "Paul, stop flirting around with these girls, if you don't love them, let them be. Paul walked up to him feeling embarrassed, he smiled at the girl he was talking to while pushing Dave away. "Dude, when will you stop this embarrassment huh?. " And why would I stop when you have refused to listen to me, find a girl and be committed to and stop this thing you call fun. Paul laughed loudly "coming from someone who doesn't know how to talk to a girl he loves. Dave shook his head sadly " anyways, I'm better off than deceiving all the girls in school and I don't understand why this girls keeps clustering around you like some sort of celebrity.
"Well, you can say I'm a celebrity. While they were discussing, Annie walked up to them smiling "hi Dave. Turning towards Paul "hi Paul. Paul stretched out his hand for a handshake "hello Annie, what's up. Dave looked away without saying a word, Annie spoke softly "Dave, is there something wrong?. Looking at her timidly he replied "nope, I'm fine, how are you doing?. She nodded slowly "I'm fine, I am on my way home, maybe we could go home together. He looked at his friend asking him to rescue him. Paul understanding him quickly said "Annie, maybe some other time, we were about going to the library to read before you came. She nodded and excused herself out.

Emily and I kept on laughing hard as we moved out of the classroom on our way home. Emily quickly called me softly "Darla. I replied. She pointed to the direction leading to the library and said "that's Dave. I sighed deeply pulling her close " so? Do you expect me to run up to him?. She stared at me for few minutes and replied " I know you are still mad at him for rejecting you but you don't have to give up except you want to leave him for Annie. I bit the lower part of my lips staring at my fingers "what do you think I should do?. She pushed me forward, "go talk to him. I reluctantly agreed and left. When I got to where they were standing, I greeted " hi. Paul excused himself and left both Dave and I together. He stared at me with a blank expression for few seconds before asking " why are you here?. I swallowed hard feeling a lump deep inside my throat "can I talk to you?. He replied coldly " if it's about your feelings towards me then forget it because I have told you before now that it's Annie I love and nothing is going to change that. He left, I felt like a sharp object was being used to stabbed me through my chest, hot tears run down my cheeks as I watched him go.
