My sister, Julia, wasn't home yet, but I didn't really care about that. All I cared about now was to take my laptop and begin doing research on ways to improve the performance of a business.
"How come your sister isn't home yet?". My mum uttered to me as I was heading toward where my laptop was.
"No idea". I responded.
I didn't have the strength to say much, all I knew was that I needed to get down to work right now. I reached my laptop, took it, walked toward the table in the house, placed it on top of the table, then drew a chair closer to the table and sat on it.
"What kind of answer is that, Lucas? Don't you care about your sister's welfare?". My mum uttered to me once again with her gaze focused on me.
"I definitely care about her welfare. She'll be back home, mum, don't worry". I said to my mum.
After saying that to her, she took her gaze off me and began walking toward a particular spot. And as for me, I focused my gaze on the laptop.
