In the silence of the night, one fly from tree to tree. Another run on the ground to smell the trace of human food. In the end they come to a hole in the ground in the mids of the forest. She stand above the hole in the ground and stare into it. Her vision show her that the hole, inside is furnish as if a person is living underground. She hear a person singing and walking to her direction. He finally appear and he looks drunk.
"Having a good life?"
"Why are you here? Don't have anyone to talk to in your temple?"
"I come here because i am feed up with your attitude. I never get angry before but this time, you make me angry. Congratulation, you are the first one who stroke the fire within me."
"AM i? Wow that sounds like an honour! Haha"
"I don't like ..."
"Sounds like you don't like me that much... how about you move out of your temple. I will move in. It's better than the underground that i am living in."
"That temple, i have been in there for thousand of years. You want me to move out?"
"Hmm... it is a good place! You don't eat, i need to eat. You don't sleep, i need to sleep! So let's switch! Haha!"
Fei fly down in his fashion. This started the drunk mountain god but not enough to frighten him.
"Ohh so there is two of you? Why i haven't seen you around?"
"Mountain god, what is your name and what type of animal are you?"
"I am Peng Ling! what type of animal?! Go to hell! You cannot ask the great mountain god this question! I am the guardian of this great mountain! I am the strongest in this region! I am ..."
He see Fei's hand generate a ball of fire. He smile and drink his alcohol in hand.
"You know nothing can destroy me. I have cultivate five hundred years of power! Who are you to talk down to me, you puny .... whatever you are. Wait there is a word that humans always say to men like you.... Ahhh girly man! Not a muscular man! Like a woman! Haha!"
Fei have enough of his talking and the ball of fire grows bigger in his hands. Hu Li who is having enough of his nonsense talking and her nails grows darker and longer.
"I suggest that you apologise for the things that you said."
"What? Going to murder me? Yo may be a deity. But i am sure you are an outcast! No one visits you and you are confine within the temple area!"
"Little man you!"
Just then, the ground shake a bit and an old man appear. He have a smily face and he looks friendly. Holding a long crane, he look at Fei and bow to him and later to Hu Li. She return the bow but whisper to Fei 'who is that old man'.
"Let me introduce, he is the earth god, Tu Di Shen."
"Great white fox, just call me Di Gong."
He bow to her again and smile but frown when he face Peng Ling.
"You, what are you doing?!"
"I am doing what i should do, master."
"You are making trouble here! I told you to be respectful to the celestial beasts."
"I did not see any!"
"There is two standing there! Are you blind?"
"I don't think so. She is being punish and that one i don't know. First time seeing that girly man."
Di Gong stomp his crane on the ground and Peng Ling kneel on the ground. He look up to Di Gong with fear.
"Since you are still making trouble, i will need to bring you back to the underground for more training!"
Before Peng Ling can say anything, he is transform into a Pangolin and it curl up into a ball shape. Di Gong pick him up and scold him.
"Currling up as a ball doesn't mean that i cannot do anything to you!"
Fei feels his anger slowly slip away and his ball of fire grows smaller and eventually disappear. He place his hands behind him and look at Di Gong.
"What will you do with him?"
"Punishment and discipline him. He needs a few more years of training. I make a mistake to think that he is ready. It seems like he is not ready at all and i should apologise to both of you for the troubles he had caused. "
Fei and Hu Li look at the earth god as he bow with the Pangolin in his hands. They return the bow and he disappear. Once again, the silence of the forest return to them. Fei and Hu Li walk back to the temple slowly in the dark night.
Hong Bang return to the temple alone. He bow and pray to the great white fox and the magical tree outside the building. He sit alone watching the sun sets. Hu Li who is busy with clearing the tree who are dying behind the temple appear. She slowly walk near him and sit beside offering an apple to him. He takes it and hold it in his hands.
"My father... is really unwell. Goddess, can you ease his pain? I know you can't let him live long but please can you ease the pain. So that he doesn't suffer so much. He is coughing up blood. I cannot bare to see him... suffer."
"First don't call me goddess, call me Hu Li like all my friends. Secondly, make that wish and i will grant that."
Hong Bang close his eyes and make that wish. A bubble come floating in front of Hu Li. She grant it and at that moment, she hear her bells ring. The tree leaves dance along with the wind. The Sun is setting in a golden hue. The birds begin to gather at the tree. Hu Li feel the lift off an spell on the space that she is in. She look at Hong Bang who is still upset and tearing. She reach out and hold his hand. He look at her cold icy hands and look up.
"Come i will go with you to your home. Let me see my old friend again."
Hong Bang wipe his eyes with his sleeves. Together they stand up. Hong BanLg walk along side with Hu Li all the way down. at the final step down the muddy lane, she look to see it's a road. that leads to the village that she always view from the top of the temple. Upon stepping on the ground, her appearance change to a normal human appearances. Not a strange looking being who walk in the night. She follow Hong Bang into the village and look around. Houses to houses, roads to roads. Finally, they reach a big compound with a house in that area. A little boy is playing outside. He comes running to his father.
