Growing up, she had only ever suffered losses at his hands. She had believed they would never meet again in her lifetime, yet he unexpectedly reappeared. And now, he was even trying to fight for the custody of the two little ones.
The more Shen Tan thought about it, the more suffocated she felt.
Perhaps she hadn't rested well lately, coupled with too much worry. She also forgot to close the window before bed, letting in a night's worth of cold air, and ended up with a high fever.
