Seeing that quite a few people weren't kneeling, Knight Captain Carl's brows furrowed. Just as he was about to lose his temper, someone in the crowd spoke up.
"Get up, there's no reason to kneel."
"You're residents of Hope Village. The Marquis isn't Hope Village's Marquis. We've never knelt to our own Lord, so why should we kneel to the Lord of another territory!"
"Yeah, get up, all of you."
"What's he showing off in our Hope Village for!"
"If you're from Hope Village, stand up now."
"..."
Many people shouted out loudly from within the crowd.
A whole swarm of voices, and nobody knew exactly who said what, but rebuttals kept coming one after another.
And soon after, those who were originally kneeling slowly stood up as well.
If others weren't kneeling, they'd look bad kneeling themselves!
And what they'd said wasn't wrong either: in Hope Village, they'd never knelt to the Lord, though admittedly the Lord had never appeared either.
