"Have you noticed that something's a bit off with the number of demon beasts around us today?" Lucas spoke keenly, asking Lucas.
"No! Isn't it a good thing we've run into fewer demon beasts?" O'Neill said with ease, thinking that with fewer demon beasts, their pace was faster—how could that not be a good thing?
"We've got this many people gathered together, and logically, the demon beasts should swarm toward us, maybe even higher-level ones, just like yesterday. But today, the demon beasts have vanished. There are only two possibilities: One, maybe we scared them off. Two, there are others nearby who've dealt with the demon beasts first. If it's the former, that's fine. But if it's the latter, it means there's likely an unknown enemy around us." Lucas knew O'Neill's mind wasn't so sharp, so he explained more thoroughly.
O'Neill listened, and instantly jolted upright.
Because if Lucas was right, that meant they'd been targeted by someone.
