Chapter 3 - Exhibit 3: Mermaids

Mermaids are a humanoid species who have adapted to a life underwater. They are a female dominated species.

Freshwater mermaids

Freshwater mermaids usually resemble animals like whales, dolphins, or sharks. 

The skin color on their tails usually consist of colors of blue and rarely colors of red and green.

Fun fact 1: Freshwater mermaids sometimes hit their heads on rocks for no reason.

Tropical mermaids

Tropical mermaids are usually very colorful, resembling most tropical fish.

You might also find Tropical Mermaids with weird and abstract patterns on their tails and their scales.

You can find colors like red, orange, yellow, green, dark green, cyan, blue, purple, and even multicolored mermaids.

Fun fact 1: The scales of tropical mermaids can store some heat, so they are usually warm to the touch even if they haven't been in the sun for awhile.

Arctic mermaids

Arctic mermaids resemble most regular mermaids, with silky white skin. They have fur on their tails which are described as incredibly fluffy and comfy. They also have fur on their arms and sometimes under their chests.

You can find them usually in colors of white and very light blues.

Lava mermaids

Lava mermaids, or sometimes referred to as Magma mermaids, are a species of mermaid which have evolved to live in incredibly warm environments, and more specifically, lava.

Their tails have scales on them which have some level of protection from lava, while their skin has evolved to withstand extreme temperatures.

Legend says they were born from the sun.

Fun fact 1: Some lava mermaids can reach such high temperatures they turn blue.

Dragons of the sea

A terribly rare species of mermaid, usually found swimming around small tropical islands.

They can grow up to 15 ft tall, with a her tail taking up 9 ft of those 15 ft.

Their skin is covered mostly with incredibly powerful scales capable of withstand even the most extreme attacks. 

They have the ability to breathe fire, hence the name. 

There is a sub species that even rarer that swim around arctic areas and instead of fire, they breathe ice and extremely cold gases.

They are typically found in colors of green, red, and rarely brown, while their arctic counterparts usually come in white, blue, and rarely pink. 

Fun fact 1: If a Dragon of the sea falls in love, they will follow the man no matter how far they go, sometimes beaching themselves to get as close as they physically can to the one they want to devote their entire love to.
