Hikari looked down at one of the large spiders in its hole. She estimated that its size was around 3 meters. It was interesting looking. It had a black top, but on its bottom was white—much like a shark's camouflage. Although, the elf went close to it, the thing didn't even try to attack her. She tilted her head in confusion, looking towards Ayase for answers.
"The spiders are mostly docile. That's why they've been driven to near extinction. They feed on fish for the most part. There are recordings of them attacking people, but that was always when people encroached on their territory."
Hikari nodded along to the explanation. "Before I came here, I believed that monsters were nothing more than mindless beasts, always attacking people. However, the more I'm here, the more I've learned it's not really like that. Monsters are closer to animals and have their very own way of living."
