These following below are the events that led up to Catwoman losing her arm during chapter 156 and 157 respectively.
The pieces of Beast Boy's arm didn't stay on the ground for long. You wouldn't notice it first, it was subtle twitch, then a slight pull, like something invisible was tugging them back together, like a creepy crawling creature. Then it became obvious. The severed parts dragged themselves across the dirt, scraping, sliding, reconnecting piece by piece as if they had somewhere they needed to be.
Beast Boy didn't rush. He walked over calmly, like this wasn't the first time he'd had to do something like this, even though it was, as if losing a limb mid-fight was just another mere inconvenience with his new-found powers. He bent down, picked up what was left, and pressed it back into place.
It fused instantly with no scar left behind. He rolled his shoulder once, testing it, then exhaled slowly. And then his body morphed again. The werewolf form didn't disappear—it evolved… or added more animal characteristics. His body shifted, his muscle tightened, the audible sound of bones adjusting under the skin with faint cracking sounds that didn't slow him down. Although hearing them in person was enough to make a person… blergh!
Carapaces began to grow over him, dark and solid, spreading across his torso first, then branching outward to his shoulders, elbows, knees, even behind the joints where movement mattered most.
His back arched slightly as something pushed outward… a tail It was long and thick and almost as wide as his torso at the base, featuring a spiked end that twitched with a life of its own. Some kind of fluid dripped from it, like a birthing fluid, but it didn't stay long enough to matter—it evaporated almost instantly.
His claws were now shortened but darkened, and much sharper than before. His head shifted next, his skull expanding slightly as layered plates formed over it, giving it a helmet-like structure. His teeth changed too, they were smaller, but far more numerous, packed tightly in a way that made his mouth looked like the big bad wolf.
His transformation didn't end there, his eyes, one was sharpened into the piercing gaze of a bald eagle, while the other widened, deeper, and reflective like an owl's which would help greatly in this night fight.
'Fuck me…' Catwoman thought, and for the first time since the fight started, the idea of running didn't feel like cowardice. It felt smart, no, it was the right thing to do if she were to survive. No point in two dying when one can live, if she can flee from here, she can live the chances of Harley's survival up to herself since she didn't even bat an eye when leaving her behind.
She'd seen Beast Boy fight before. She knew he was dangerous, unpredictable, versatile. But this? This wasn't just versatility anymore. This was control, he had refined his methods and that was scary to watch. And the worst part, it wasn't by chance, he knew what he was doing with it.
Her body shifted slightly, weight adjusting, already preparing for movement—
SLICE!!
Her thoughts didn't finish, her eyes widened as she felt something had passed her. She didn't even see it.
One moment Beast Boy was in front of her, the next he wasn't there at all, and then she turned. Just like in samurai movies, it was too late.
He was behind her now, hovering just inches above the ground, wings moving slowly, almost lazily.
And in his hand—her arm.
"…cough… cough… cough…" For a second, her brain didn't register it. Then the pain hit.
She staggered back, instinct taking over. Her remaining hand clamped down hard against the stump at her shoulder, pressing with enough force to slow the bleeding. Her body reacted fast to aid her recovery. The shock didn't take her out. Her system forced itself to stabilise, adrenaline flooding in, keeping her upright and thinking fast.
Still, there was a problem, she couldn't grow it back, she was not like them.
Not like Beast Boy or like Harley. The hairs along her body rose instinctively like that of a cat's. There was danger everywhere.
"Not bad, Beast Boy," Robin's voice cut in from above, too eager, too quick. "Let's finish this and help the others—quickly." He came down fast, legs tucked, aiming to drive both knees straight into her.
Catwoman didn't even look, she kept things simply by moving out of the way, she needed to save her energy and stamina for Beast Boy, he was a nightmare that hovered above, and she couldn't help but have her attention be divided dangerously by others she deemed lesser, thus, danger was everywhere.
Her body shifted just enough to let him pass, and in the same motion her claws came up, aiming to tear through him before he could recover—but she didn't get the chance.
Ra's al Ghul was already there. His strike came from the side, precise and timed perfectly to interrupt her counter. She pulled back immediately, abandoning the attack on Robin and flipping out of the space before both of them could collapse on her at once.
She landed—but didn't get a second to breathe. Her two feet had barely touched the ground when Red Star was began moving.
He came in low, fast, a flying punch aimed straight through her center.
'What power? He's strong, very strong!' She caught it with her sole hand, but barely.
Her hand wrapped around his fist, but the force behind it didn't stop. It pushed her backward, dragging her across the ground, tearing through dirt and debris as she was driven deeper into the remains of the Wayne estate.
"Ouuu—!" The sound forced its way out of her as blood hit her mouth.
Before she could reset there was another Impact on her body. A knee was lodged deeply in her core. There was only one person there that could strike that hard and fast that it would come as a surprise to her.
Beast Boy.
It drove straight into her midsection with enough force to fold her body in on itself. The carapace over his leg didn't give at all. Instead, something cracked inside her—more than one thing—and the shock of it sent a violent tremor through her entire body.
For a second, everything changed colour like a person on a drug induced trip. Her vision shifted, warped, blurred even like she'd been knocked out of alignment with herself. It almost felt like she wasn't in her body anymore as if she was having a true out-of-body experience. It was horrifying to experience, as she was left in a state of unconsciousness for two seconds.
Two seconds was a long time.
But there was no time to drift, she was not even given the time to fall. A pair of hands forced her down.
Aqualad.
He pressed her shoulders into the ground, holding her in place just long enough for lightning to follow. It tore through her body, lighting her up from the inside out.
"AAAAHHH!!!" The scream ripped free before she could stop it, bringing her back to consciousness, her voice carried across the destroyed bat cave.
Batman heard it, he looked, just for a moment, and then he looked away. That hurt more than the lightning. But it didn't matter, everyone had picked their sides anyways.
Ra's moved in the second Aqualad let go without hesitation. He straightened his in a cutting motion as he sent his hand cut toward her neck in a clean, efficient strike meant to end it. She jerked back too late though, still stunned by Aqualad's lightning. But he only left a small cut on her neck, she was still far more durable than the others safe for Beast Boy.
"Tch, that should have taken her head clean off!" Ra's spoke to himself, looking down at his hand as he stroked his hand as if sharpening a sword.
Catwoman was thrown once again into another attack, by Red Star once more. Although this time, she dodged by instinct alone.
"Impressive," Ra's said calmly to her this time, like they weren't in the middle of tearing her apart. "Your body is quite durable. That would have taken the head off most people."
"Most humans, at least." He tilted his head slightly.
Talia stepped up beside him, smiling faintly as she watched. Catwoman barely had time to register it before, another hit came at her side. Her eyes widened in wonder and dread. If she couldn't see it or sense it coming, it was only one person.
Beast Boy again. He was quickly becoming her nightmare if she would through this that is. It was another knee attack as more ribs gave.
Her body lifted from the ground and was thrown sideways, the world spinning briefly before, the ground itself turned on her.
Suddenly, a massive hand formed from the earth beneath her, closing in fast, fingers curling around her body. She braced instinctively, pushing back just enough to keep from being crushed outright.
But if that was all the giant earthen hand had to offer then she was in paradise, except she was in reality. The surface shifted and hardened hard enough there were diamonds in some places, spiked metal in others and beneath them all, the heat of the earth's core, molten and burning.
"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" This scream didn't hold anything back. It was pain, pure and unadulterated pain, some of them looked away while others didn't.
Red Rush watched without expression, Ra's didn't move, Talia smiled, while Jericho remained still.
