Inside the GF conference room, Luo Ye sat face to face with a male and female military officer. The woman was in her forties, held the rank of Major General, was slightly plump, had silkworm eyebrows and up-slanted eyes—also known as phoenix eyes—forming a shape similar to an inverted "8," making her appear particularly stern. The man was in his thirties with the rank of Lieutenant, had thick eyebrows and narrow eyes, and wore a pair of glasses, projecting a gentle and refined demeanor.
These two were from the Military Committee General Case Investigation Office. The woman was named Li Yongping, the Deputy Director of the General Case Investigation Office, whereas the man was Hua Mingsen, the head of one of the departments in the office. They sought Luo Ye, naturally, to investigate the case involving her and Qiao Xiaowan.
